This application has been developed by Arturo Garrido de la Rosa, a Mexican developer who has used the BlueVia SMS API to design Twitea.me. His inspiration came from his hands-on experience of the Mexican market where the penetration of smartphones is not as high as Europe or the USA.

Arturo, who is 35 and a Cybernetics and Computer Systems Engineer, has always been fascinated by the development of mobile applications. He started to work with the Movistar Developers Platform APIs in 2009, and made the natural progression to the new BlueVia platform at the end of 2010.

“When I discovered the Movistar Developers Platform I started to try out their APIs, as I was really interested in the possibility of connecting directly with the Telefónica network. When I heard about BlueVia it was just perfect because now I had the possibility to continue doing exactly what I had been doing locally in Mexico with MDP but on a global scale and with the added benefit of the business models offered by BlueVia.”

The impact that social networking has had on society is huge. Keeping in touch with friends, family and colleagues has been made infinitely easier by the launch of services such as Twitter and Facebook. However, there are millions of people who desire the convenience of connecting to their accounts while on the move but do not own a smartphone or permanent mobile internet connection. Twitea.me fills this gap, enabling people to be connected on the move with their social networks because it works with any cellular device, the user only has to register on the Twitea.me site and configure the social networks they want to use through SMS.

By using the BlueVia SMS API, Twitea.me generates revenues from every message sent and received across the API.
