This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7th. It was ins tuted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gra tude for the protec on that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful. Archbishop Sartain launches Share the Journey at St. Thomas Pope Francis launched the worldwide campaign on migra on on September 27,2017. The Archdiocese of Sea le had the official launch of the campaign on September 29, 2017 at St. Thomas. The Archbishop began the local launch with a blessing of the community garden then toured the garden and greeted some of the refugee gardeners who had come to meet him. It was a beau ful a ernoon filled with bright sunshine and good cheer for all who a ended the garden event. Following the garden event, the crowd returned to the Social Hall for a potluck dinner with goodies from many corners of the world. It was a joyous event with the sounds of many languages and lots of smiles. Joining the Archbishop in recognizing the Pope’s global campaign was Father Jerry and Donna Ferraro, both of whom were instrumental in the crea on of the community garden at St. Thomas. Yes, the secret is now out, that Father Jim is a great cook. His dish was delicious. If you need an idea for a great potluck meal, just ask Father Jim! If you have any ques ons about the launch or have ideas for future events to con nue moving the campaign forward please contact Paul Hardin or Maggie Gonzalez. Remember this is a two-year campaign.
