SMALL GROUP NEWS
Many of you have expressed an interest in the “Oremus” series,
Teach us How to Pray, presented by Fr. Mark Toups. This
coincides with Bishop Ricken’s request to grow deeper in prayer
in order to know and love Jesus Christ in a more intimate way. A
few of our group leaders had other obligations, so
I would like to put together this eight week
program for those of you that may opt for this
series as your “small group”. It will be offered on
Thursday evenings 6:30 pm - 8 pm. Another
session could be offered on Wednesday evening,
same time, should we have a large response; we
may need a volunteer facilitator. Sign-up sheets
will be available at the keeper’s desk outside the
BWC this week until the start of class.
Registration forms and checks can be mailed or dropped off at the
parish office. An optional workbook is available for $20 due upon
registration. Our start date will be Thursday, October 23rd. For
more information call Pat Westlund at 432-4348.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF
HOLY COMMUNION
"If angels could be jealous of men, they would be so for
one reason: Holy Communion." St. Maximillian Kolbe
We are currently looking to expand our list of Extraordinary
Ministers of Holy Communion for both our Saturday Vigil
and Sunday Masses. Would you prayerfully consider being
a part of such an EXTRA ordinary ministry? Prior
experience is not necessary and training will be provided.
Please email Jenny Johns: [email protected]
I invite you to ponder the great gift of The Holy Eucharist.
What a privilege we have!
Dear Father Dorner and Members of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral,
The Catholic Foundation-World Mission Services office has received your parish check in the amount of $3,653.00
on behalf of the 2014 Missionary Cooperation Appeal. Thank you for your generous and meaningful response.
I realize this program takes a great deal of coordination and cooperation. I especially want to recognize with a heart
of deep appreciation your time, your cooperation, your hospitality, the making room for some inconvenience to yourselves,
and your financial sacrifices. Without these attributes, this program could not happen and the Missionary Church would
suffer a great loss of support.
Due to the generosity of the parishes of the Green Bay Diocese, the Catholic Foundation disbursed $314,411.11 to
38 mission groups who participated in the 2014 Missionary Appeal. As we continue to work together to proclaim the Gospel
in all our actions, we thank you for your support and pray that you will continue to shine the Lord’s light on all you reach.
Sincerely yours,
Cindi Brawner, Executive Director
Catholic Foundation-World Mission Services

NATIONAL ROSARY
NOVENA In my recent pastoral reflection, “Teach My People To Pray,” I urge the faithful of the Diocese of Green Bay to
focus on deepening our relationship with the Lord by renewing our prayer lives and fully living out the call to holiness. The
National Rosary Novena beginning on September 29th and concluding on November 21st, provides another opportunity
for all to pray the Rosary individually, as a family, as a diocese and as a parish.
All of the faithful across America will be praying together to ask the Blessed Mother to intercede in a powerful yet
maternal way for the special intentions of this novena. The intentions of this novena are for peace and the family with a
special focus on human life, marriage and religious freedom. You can find the information online at www.54days.org.
We entrust all of our efforts to Our Lady of Good Help who is so present to us in the Diocese of Green Bay. The
Blessed Mother, as Pope Francis says “the woman of prayer and work in Nazareth, and she is also Our Lady of Help, who
sets out from her town ‘with Haste’ (Lk 1:39) to be of service to others.” Let us too set out in haste to embrace the Lord and
to reach out to those around us in prayer!
Sincerely yours in Christ,
The Most Reverend David L. Ricken, DD,JCL
