Knights of Columbus Membership Drive Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed to making
their community a better place while supporting their church. Being a Knight is more than camaraderie. As a Knight, you will be involved in the community, support your local Catholic church, while enhancing your own faith, and will protect and enhance your family life. Last year alone, Knights volunteered more than 60 million hours of
their time and raised more than $150 million for charitable needs worldwide. We undertake these acts of charity because we see those in need through the eyes of
faith. If you are interested in joining this enriching ministry or just want more information, stop by the Knights of Columbus table outside after all the Masses this
weekend. We look forward to meeting you!
Pilgrimage
Rev. Chris and Rev. Nick are away on pilgrimage through October 21st. They have left the celebration of the masses in the hands of our generous retired and/or other brother
priests, Rev. Jim Boyd, Rev. Larry Purcell, Rev. Richard Duncanson,
Rev. Michael Ortiz, Rev. Michael White, and the Miles Christi
priests. For emergencies while they are away, please contact Edith Celiceo
at the Parish Office. Please pray for all the members of our parish
community as they journey on their pilgrimage to Italy and the Vatican. We pray for their safe journey and a
deepening of faith as they encounter these sacred places.
World Mission Sunday
Next weekend, October 19th-20th, there will be a special collection in celebration of World Mission Sunday. There will be envelopes in the pews for this collection.

Catholic Charities St. Thérèse of Carmel invites parishioners to visit the Diocese of San Diego - Catholic
Charity website tab (www.ccdsd.org/programs-1) to review the diverse programs that this organization offers to our community. There are a number of opportunities
to support or volunteer in many of their various programs: community services, homeless outreach, senior services, food centers, refugee/immigrant assistance,
adoption and many other special programs that could use your guidance, assistance and talents. Catholic Charities strives to meet the challenges brought to them by the
use of spiritual, human and financial resources to enable each individual to grow and thrive with dignity and respect. As we enter into the season of celebration and joy, St. Thérèse of Carmel would like to remind everyone that it matters not how big or small your gift but that every penny, action, gesture, and kindness can make all the
difference to those who are struggling or are in need.
Baptism Baptisms are a communal Sacrament held on the 4th Sunday of each month after the 11:00am Mass. Deacon John Fanelle performs all of the baptisms. Parents are required to be formally registered as parishioners and be participating members of our community for three months. Attending Mass does not make you registered. You must have completed the registration form. If this is the first child, both parents are required to attend the Baptismal Class. Baptismal classes are held on the first Sunday of each month. Godparents are encouraged to attend the baptismal class, either at our parish or their own parish. For more information, or to schedule a Baptism and/or register for the Baptismal Class, please visit https://sttheresecarmel.org/baptism/. Marriage
All couples wishing to be married at St. Thérèse of Carmel must be formally registered, active, and participating members of our parish community for one year before setting a date. Couples are asked to allow six to nine months to complete the marriage preparation program. Please contact the parish office at (858) 481-3232 or email [email protected] to make arrangements.
RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults RCIA is the process by which the unbaptized are received into the Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist. Unbaptized adults seeking a deeper union with Jesus Christ, through initiation into the Catholic Faith, are cordially invited to consider participation in the RCIA which will begin in the fall. RCIA is also appropriate for Christians from other denominations who seek initiation into the Catholic tradition and for Baptized Catholics who need to finish their sacraments of initiation. Please contact Karen Klause (858) 354-7441 for more information.
