Installing the Bazar ShopTheme
Download WooCommercePlugin
Download Bazar ShopTheme
Unzip the downloadedtheme
Upload Bazar ThemeShop
Installing the Bazar Shop Theme
FIRST, Bazar Shop is a Wordpress theme, so make sure you have already installed Wordpress 3.1 or higher. If you haven’t already done this, go to
Wordpress.org for a free download and follow their installation instructions.
Download WooCommerce Plugin
SECOND, Bazar Shop is also a WooCommerce theme, so you will need to install the WooCommerce Plugin to your Wordpress installation. Click here:
WooCommerce Plugin. You will see a long list of plugins, but the correct plugin is located at the top of the list and is called WooCommerce - excelling
eCommerce.
*Note – Install the WooCommerce Plugin but DO NOT activate it yet. That comes later.
Download Bazar Shop Theme
Download the Bazar Shop theme from your ThemeForest account downloads page and save it to your desktop. This is how the file will look.
*Note – This IS NOT the file you will upload to your Wordpress installation. The file you need must be UNZIPPED before uploading.
Unzip the downloaded theme
UNZIP the downloaded theme file. You can use a zip program or you can just CLICK TWICE on the folder icon to show the contents inside. You should
see a folder called Bazar_Wordpress_Theme.
CLICK TWICE on Bazar_Wordpress_Theme, and inside you will find five additional folders and one “thumb” file. Find “Bazar”. THIS IS THE FOLDER
YOU WILL UPLOAD to your Wordpress Theme.

Drag the Bazar folder to your desktop. It should look like this:
Upload Bazar Theme Shop
UPLOAD the Bazar file. You can do this one of two ways:
a. Via Wordpress – Log into your Wordpress site.
When you get to your dashboard, scroll down the left sidebar to the Appearance-panel and hover over or click on “Appearance”. You will immediately
see a drop-down list like the one in the visual below:
Click on “Themes” and you will see two tabs – Manage Themes and Install Themes. Click “Install Themes”.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/01-install.html
2 of 7 24/06/2014 13:01
Under “Install Themes”, click on “Upload”, and this is what you will see.
Now you are ready to upload the Bazar shop file that you unzipped earlier. Click “Browse” and find the Bazar Shop file on your desktop.
Click the Bazar Shop file, then click “open”. The file name will appear in the browse box.
Click “install now” and wait for the installation message. *Note: The installation will probably take a few minutes, so please be patient.
When the installation is finished, you should see this:
Under the words “Theme installed successfully,” you will see an option to immediately click on “Activate” to activate the theme. You may activate it
from this screen, or you can navigate back to “Appearance”, click on “Themes”, and there you will see all your theme choices, including Bazar Shop.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/01-install.html
3 of 7 24/06/2014 13:01
Click on the Bazar Shop icon and then “Save and Activate”. Here is what your new screen will look like:
*Note - in the top yellow bar, you are being instructed to install the WooThemes Updater plugin, but THIS IS NOT NECESSARY, so please ignore
this suggestion.
Now you are ready to proceed to Step Two.
But before you move to Step 2, let’s take a detour. Maybe you prefer to upload your new Bazar Shop files via FTP instead of Wordpress. What would
you do? Follow these instructions:
b. Uploading Via Filezilla (SKIP THIS STEP if you have already successfully installed your Bazar Shop theme via Wordpress) - Now you will learn
how to upload your files using the Filezilla client.
First, BACKUP YOUR FILES! This is always the safest thing to do.
Next, download and install the Filezilla Client - http://filezilla-project.org/
Now OPEN FILEZILLA to see this window:
Fill in your FTP Credentials, like in the image shown below:
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/01-install.html
4 of 7 24/06/2014 13:01
Now “CLICK QUICKCONNECT” and Filezilla will load your website. Here is how it will look:
Now use the right side panel to navigate to your themes folder. In the example above, the theme folder is public_html/wp-content/themes/,
however, not all web hosting have public_html, it may be something different in your server.
After your themes/ folder is open, use the left side panel to navigate to the place where you have extracted the theme folder. In this example,
the extracted theme folder is on the desktop.
Drag the extracted theme folder into your web hosting:
**Note – you may be asked if you want to overwrite files and/or folder. Tick the option to "Always use this action" and click on "Ok.” Then
wait until all files are uploaded.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/01-install.html

That's all there is to it!
c. Via IE (Internet Explorer) FTP: (SKIP THIS STEP if you have already successfully installed your Bazar Shop theme via Wordpress)
If you prefer uploading your Bazar Shop files via Internet Explorer “ftp” you will use a slightly different method.
First, open a browser and type your ftp address into the address bar like so.
You will see this popup, asking you to insert your user name and password to open your ftp files.
When you insert the correct username and password into the screen, your browser window will open to show your ftp root files. (See below) Scroll
right on the navigation bar and find the word “Page”. Click on it to open a drop-down box like the one below. At the bottom of the drop-down click
“Open FTP Site”.
ALMOST DONE! After you click “Open FTP Site,” you’ll see this popup for the second time.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/01-install.html
6 of 7 24/06/2014 13:01
Insert your user name and password again and you will get this screen:
Scroll to the folder you will use for your Bazar site. For example, if your site is called “My Shop,” scroll to that folder. Double-click on it to find three
main folders inside: WP-Admin, WP-Content, and WP-Includes.
Double-click on WP-Content and find “Themes” inside. Double click on “Themes” to open it then find Bazar Shop on your desktop.
BUT WAIT! Since you’re uploading via FTP you won’t insert the entire Bazar Shop folder into the root files. You must UNZIP IT.
Double-click on Bazar Shop and drag the Bazar folder inside (see below) into the YourShopName>WP-Content>Themes> folder in the FTP files.
Once you drag the files have finished copying, CLOSE THE FTP ROOT FILES FOLDER AND THE PAGE FILES FOLDER OF YOUR FTP FILES,
then go to your Wordpress dashboard, navigate to Themes, and see that Bazar Shop is one of your theme choices. Click on the Bazar Shop theme
icon, then click “Save and Activate”.
That’s it! You have now completed Step One.

Pre-Customization
Congratulations. You have completed Step 1 and are now at the true “Starting Point” of customization. This is the point where your website will begin
to resemble the Bazar Shop demo site.
In this section, you will learn how to locate and install the demo content, and download the images so that your site looks like our demo site.
1. Install the Demo Content
Install Demo Content – On the left sidebar of your Bazar theme, find and click on the word “Bazar”. Scroll down to “Backup and Reset” and click to
open the Sample Data screen. Now, on the right side, scroll to the bottom of the paragraph and click “Install sample data”.
A bright yellow rectangle will pop up to say “Sample data installed correctly”, and you are now ready for the next step.
2. Download and install the images
Download and Install Images – Simply installing the demo content is not enough to make your new site look exactly like ours. You will also need to
download and install the sample images provided with the theme. The photos used in our demos are licensed from http://www.fotolia.com, and are
covered by Fotolia Copyrights. These photos should not be saved, copied or redistributed in any way (Read our terms and conditions) .
Stay on the Sample Data screen, but this time look to the column on the left. There you will see the sentence that says “Download Sample
Images”. Click it.
Now you will see this screen:

files, drag your Uploads folder into the wp-content folder.

Setting Your Site to"Maintenance" Mode
Activating and Using theChild Theme
Customization
In this section, you will learn how to set your site to Maintenance Mode (without locking yourself out) and activate the Child Theme.
Setting Your Site to "Maintenance" Mode
Setting Your Site to Maintenance Mode – Your site may be up and running, but you’re probably not ready to have users register, bid or purchase. To
prevent these activities, just set your site to Maintenance Mode. Scroll to the left sidebar of your WP dashboard, click on Bazar and choose
“Maintenance Mode” from the drop-down. You will see this screen:
***WARNING! To activate “Maintenance Mode”, drag the “Enable Maintenance Page” button to the ON position (shown above). But BEFORE YOU
CLICK SAVE, you MUST drag the Administrator Button to the “Allowed” position (shown). If you do not “allow” the administrator (YOU!) access
to the site, you will lock yourself out of your own site.
IF YOU SOMEHOW MANAGE TO LOCK YOURSELF OUT OF YOUR SITE, you will need to open a ticket at YIThemes for help getting back in.
Activating and Using the Child Theme
USING THE CHILD THEME
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/03-customization.html
1 of 3 24/06/2014 13:03
As you customize, you will make many changes. However, it is NEVER RECOMMENDED to make any changes to core files because each time a
theme update is released, your changes will be over-written and you’ll have to start all over again.
For this reason, we’ve included a Child Theme identical to the Bazar Parent theme which allows you to make changes without fear that your hard
work and customizations will be over-written.
The Child Theme must be activated via FTP. Here’s how:
First, open your FTP files. If you’ve forgotten how to do this, just follow the instructions in Step One, Item #7b of this manual to understand how to get
to your FTP files.
Find your Bazar Shop folder and double-click to find WP-Admin, WP-Content, WP-Includes.
Now double-click on “WP-Content”, then double-click on “Themes” to find the Bazar folder:
Now double-click to open “Bazar” and notice the “Bazar-child” theme inside. Drag the Bazar-child folder to your desktop.
Now click on the GREEN “BACK” BUTTON on your FTP browser.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/03-customization.html
2 of 3 24/06/2014 13:03
You should arrive back at this screen:
Drag the child-theme from your desktop (see example below) to your FTP files.
CAREFUL! Be sure that you DON’T DRAG THE FILE INSIDE ANY OF THE FOLDERS in the FTP. The child-theme should stand alone, like so:
CLOSE YOUR FTP FILES, go to your Wordpress Admin panel, click on “Themes”, and see Bazar-Child as a theme option:
ACTIVATE YOUR BAZAR CHILD THEME by clicking it to make it appear in the top of the page as the “current theme”. Then click the “Activate”
button.
All done! Now on to Step Four.

1. Choosing a "Home" Page
CHOOSE AND SET YOUR HOME PAGE - We have included many Page Layouts for you to choose from. Here are two ways to choose and set your
Home Page.
First Method: If you installed the Demo Content, you don’t need to create a new Home Page, you just need to choose from among the ten (10)
Home Pages that were automatically created from the demo content.
Now let’s suppose you want HOME-II as your home page. To set it, you would navigate to your WP-Admin panel, scroll down the left sidebar to
“Settings” and click on “Reading Settings:”
Click on “A static page”, then click on the “Front Page Box” to open a drop-down list. In this example, we chose “Home II” as our Home page.
Next, choose a Blog page by clicking the “Posts Page tab” to open a drop-down list. Here, we chose Sphera.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/04-page-settings.html
3 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
Now you can further customize your site:
Decide how many Blog Pages and Syndication feeds you want to show.
Regarding feed articles, click to show the full text.
**Note – We will demonstrate how to use the “Read More” button.
Decide whether you want to discourage the Search Engines from indexing your site. **Note – this is usually chosen while the site is being set
up and tweaked. You can always go back later and un-click it so that the Search Engines will index it.
NOW SAVE YOUR CHANGES!
2. Choose and set your blog page
CHOOSE AND SET YOUR BLOG PAGE.
Now you will need to do the same thing for your blog. Note here that we chose the “Sphera” blog design from the “Pages” option on the left. After
we click “Add to Menu”, the Sphera page appears on the menu.
Next, we clicked the Sphera drop-down arrow and it opened to look like the image below.
Then we changed the “Navigation Label” from Sphera to “Blog”. You may change your Navigation Label to whatever you choose, such as “News”
or “Information”.
Note that the bottom of the drop-down shows “Original: Sphera.” This means you are using the “Sphera” layout but you have re-named it “Blog”.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/04-page-settings.html
4 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
Be sure to save all your changes!
BUT WAIT! If you DID NOT import the Demo Content, you will need to MANUALLY CREATE your Home and Blog Pages. Here’s how:
First, go to your WP-Amin left sidebar, click on “Pages” and click “Add New”.
Name your new page “Home,” “Home-I,” “Home-II,” or whatever is appropriate for the Home Page layout that you are using.
Now scroll to the right sidebar and click on the Template drop-down arrow. From the drop-down, choose the “Home” template.
Scroll up to “Parent” and click on the drop-down. Then click “Home” because the Home page will be the parent.
Add any content you want, or add the content later, whichever you choose.
Now scroll up and click “Publish”.
Create your Blog Page the same way.
First, add a new page, give it a name (we called ours “Blog”), then scroll to “Parent” and click on “Blog”. Then scroll to “Template” and click on
“Blog”.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/04-page-settings.html
5 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
That’s all there is to it!
**Note: You can show blog posts on other pages that are not using the Blog template, by using the “Blog” shortcode. You can find it by
clicking the “Y” in the Visual text window (shown above), or by clicking “Get Shortcodes” if you are using the Text Window.
3. Tweaking your pages
TWEAKING YOUR PAGES – Whether you create your Pages via manually or via demo content, you can do many things to tweak and
improve them.
Every Page will include these options:
In this example, we are preparing to tweak our Blog Page, which looks like this:
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/04-page-settings.html
6 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
Beginning with “Page Settings”, we made the following changes:
a. Slogan – We added “Your Blog News”
b. Sub-Slogan – We added “Get it Here”
c. SideBar – Note by the highlighted sidebar that we decided to use the “Right Sidebar”. Then, since different pages can have different
sidebars, we opened the Sidebar Dropdown to choose which sidebar to use. In our case, we decided to use the same sidebar that we use
for the Home-11 layout.
DON’T FORGET TO SCROLL UP TO THE TOP RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR PAGE AND CLICK “UPDATE!”
This is what our tweaked Blog Page looks like. Note the “Stay Updated” info and “Popular Posts” info which appear to the “Right Sidebar”.
Now we will proceed to “SEO”, or “Search Engine Optimization”. **Note - This demonstration is not included to give you a lesson on
SEO, but only to show you how you can tweak our pages:
Depending upon your website’s theme and your page’s purpose, you can choose a popular SEO title for your page. We gave our blog page
the title of “Indie News”.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/04-page-settings.html
7 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
You can also include important keywords and a page description. We used “indie” and “entrepreneur” as key words, then wrote a quick
page description.
There are many places that can help you develop keywords. One example is Google Keywords.
CLICK SAVE THEN REFRESH!
On first glance, it may seem as if nothing has changed, but it has:
Notice here that even though your visitor is technically on your blog page, the tab says “Indie News”, just as you labeled it on the SEO
page.
Now let’s tweak the Header:
For purposes of this demonstration, we chose the slider “Flexslider Elegant”, but you can add whatever you like. Also, we are leaving
the other “tweak possibilities” to you to experiment with as you please. SAVE AND REFRESH!
Now let’s see how our Blog page looks with a slider on it:
Here it is, complete with the Flexslider Elegant choice! Notice that it still displays the Slogan and Sub-Slogan we assigned to it
earlier.

Our next tweak is the background color or image:
You can experiment with any image, color or option you desire. SAVE AND REFRESH! Here is how our Blog page looks after inserting a
custom green color:
For the Google Maps Page Tweak, please see the Bazar Shop video tutorial.
4. Writing an article and using the “READ MORE” button
WRITING AN ARTICLE AND USING THE “READ MORE” BUTTON – First you need to CREATE A NEW POST. Scroll to the leftsidebar of your WP-Admin panel, click on “Posts” and from the drop-down, choose “Add New”.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/04-page-settings.html
9 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
When the Post Page opens, give it a title, add some text, choose a Format, and choose a Category. In this example, we’veadded two paragraphs of text. We have also chosen the “Standard” format and we listed this article as “Uncategorized”.
To see how your article will look BEFORE YOU SAVE IT, you can scroll to the top right and click “Save Draft” then“Preview”. Here is what ours looks like:
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/04-page-settings.html
10 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
But perhaps you want to abbreviate the text so that your visitors will only see the first paragraph, and will have to click“Read More” to read the rest of the post. Here’s how to do it:
First, decide how much text you want your readers to see. In the example below, we decided to show the first paragraphonly, so we scrolled to the end of the paragraph and clicked so that the cursor appeared there.
Next, we located the word “More” on the Post toolbar (highlighted in this example). When we clicked “More” theshortcode appeared at the end of the first paragraph.
And here’s how the “More” shortcode looks in the Visual Editor:
Next, we scrolled right and clicked “Publish”, because this is the only way to see how the finished post will look. Thenwe clicked “Preview”, and here’s our Post with “More:”
Notice that the title “Test Post” has shifted to the left side after we clicked “Publish”. Also now only the first paragraphof the article shows, and a NEW BUTTON shows that says, “VIEW THE FULL ARTICLE”.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/04-page-settings.html
11 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
But what if you want to add a picture to your post? Here’s what you do: Scroll to the top of your browser and find andclick “EDIT PAGE”. This will take you back to the original “Test Post” editable screen.
Now scroll down to the bottom right of the page and find and click “Set Featured Image”.
This will open your Media page, and you can either upload an image or use a previously uploaded image. In the examplebelow, we are using a previously uploaded image. We clicked on the picture on the third row, second from the left and a“check mark” appeared, indicating that this is the picture we want to use.
Now scroll to the bottom right and click the blue box that says "Set Featured Image". Then scroll to the top right andclick “Update”.

Here’s how our page looks with the picture we chose:
You can experiment placing the “Read More” button or placing pictures wherever you like on your article.
5. Setting Your Contact Page
Setting Your Contact Page – Let’s assume that you imported the demo content and already have a Contact Page (if youDID NOT import the demo content, go ahead and create a Contact Page).
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/04-page-settings.html
13 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
Notice the “short code” in the body of the page. Also notice that we made sure we were using the correct template byscrolling right to “Template” clicking on the drop-down and highlighting “Contact”.
To create your Contact Form, scroll to the left Sidebar, click on “Contact Forms”, then click “Add New”.
Here is what your screen will look like. Since you can have as many unique Contact Forms as you like, you should giveeach form you create a unique name so you it is easy to find when you want to use it. For this demonstration, we gaveours the name “Your New Contact Form.”
Next, you will notice TWO TABS: Contact Form Configuration and Add/Edit Form.
Beginning with the Contact Form Configuration tab, scroll through the options and complete all the fields. For example,“Receiver(s) and Senders” will YOUR email, or the email of a person designated by you. Place the Sender Name of yourchoice in the appropriate field. Here, we’ve used “Admin”.
Complete all the other fields.
Now click on the Add/Edit Form field. The screen will have several fields. In this example, there are four fields: Message,

14 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
Name, Email, Website.
On “Enter Your Message”, find and click on the drop-down arrow to get to this screen:
Complete all the fields. **Note – The DATA NAME field
Now open the other three fields and complete the information.
CLICK SAVE!
Now navigate back to the WP-Admin sidebar (left), find and click on Contact Forms>All Contact Forms. You should havegiven your Contact Form a name. In our case, we named ours “Contact Form”.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/04-page-settings.html
15 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
To the extreme right of the “Contact Form” is the shortcode that should be copied and pasted into your Contact Page.
Copy and paste this code into your Contact Page, click UPDATE, then scroll to the bottom of your Contact Page tocomplete the customization:
Just like the earlier pages, you can tweak your Contact Page.
In this example, we have tweaked the Slogan, the Sub-Slogan, and the Sidebar (note that this sidebar is located to theleft).
We have previously demonstrated how to tweak your SEO, so we will skip this.
Now we will tweak your Contact Page Header.
Notice (in the image below) that we have decided NOT to use a slider.
We have moved the “Use Static Image” button to the “On” position because we have our own “static” custom image wedesire to use.
To use a custom image, simply click “Upload”, then upload the image from wherever it is located. Once it has finisheduploading, it will produce a link that you should copy and paste into the “Static Image” box, like the example below:
We will not complete a Background tweak this time, so we will move on to the Google Map tweak:
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/04-page-settings.html
16 of 17 24/06/2014 13:03
Notice that the Google Map option includes a link to Google Maps. When you follow that link, you will be able to insertyour business or home address to generate a map link for your website.
**NOTE – YOU CAN ALSO USE AN IMAGE LINK IN THE GOOGLE MAP FIELD, IF YOU PREFER.
Now CLICK SAVE and navigate to your Contact Page to see how it looks in its finished form.
Here is our Contact Page after all the tweaking. Notice the Custom image, the Slogan and Sub-Slogan and the GoogleMap.
That’s all there is to it! Now ON TO STEP FIVE!

The Navigation (Menu) Bar
Now that you have tweaked your pages, it’s time to learn how to make your Pages show on the Navigation Bar.
1. Navigation Bar
You will choose and arrange your Pages on the Navigation Bar via the “Menus” page. First, go to your WP-Admin left sidebar, click on
“Appearance” and then on “Menus”.
If you imported the demo content, your menu will already have pages on it, but if not, you will need to build your Menu like the example above.
Begin by giving your Menu a name. In the illustration above, we simply called ours “Menu”.
2. Choose the pages
Next, choose the Pages that will show on your Menu. To do this, scroll down to the bottom left of your Menus page and find “Pages”. Click on the
Pages that you want to show on your Menu. **Note - Sometimes only the “Most Recent” pages show. To show all your pages, click “View All”.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/05-navigation.html
1 of 3 24/06/2014 13:04
3. Add to menu
Click on the pages you want to show, then click “Add to Menu”, and the pages will appear on your menu like the above example.
4. Set the menu
Now add your Menu to your Navigation bar. In the above example, we have several customs menus to choose from, but we want to use
“Menu”. So we clicked “Main Navigation” to open a drop-down box, then clicked “Menu” for the Main Navigation.
Since you are using the HOME-II page layout as your example, simply go to the “Home” box on the Menu, click on the drop-down arrow, and it
will open like the picture below.
5. Navigation label
But you probably don’t want it to say “Home-II” on your Navigation Bar, you just want it to say “Home”. Therefore, once the drop-down opens
(like the image below), change the Navigation Label from “Home-II” to “Home”.
**Note - the bottom of the drop-down still reads “Original: Home-II”, so you know you’re using the right page layout.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/05-navigation.html
2 of 3 24/06/2014 13:04
Now do the same thing for your Blog. Remember, we chose the “Sphera” blog layout, so you need to choose “Sphera” from your “Page” option
and it will be added to the Menu.
Look at the bottom right of this example and see that it is “Sphera” blog page layout. But you may not want your blog page to be called “Sphera,”
so delete the name on the Navigation Label and type the name you want in its place. In this example, we called the page “Blog”.
6. Order the menu
**Note – Click and drag the pages on the right side of your Menu to arrange them in whatever order you desire.

The MegaMenu
Now that you have tweaked your pages, it’s time to learn how to build a unique menu or MegaMenu.
1. Create a menu
In order to build a beautiful MegaMenu, you will first need to create a new menu. Go to the left side of the WP-Admin panel, find “Appearance,”
then “Menus”.
Now click the + option on the top right menu navigation bar to create a new menu. For this demonstration, we have called our “megamenu”.
**Important – use all lowercase letters. Notice also that we have changed the “Theme Location” (right) to “megamenu”.
Be sure to CLICK SAVE.
2. Enable CSS Classes
Now scroll up and find the “Screen Options” at the top right of the Menu, and click on the drop-down arrow: Now the screen looks like this:
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/06-megamenu.html
1 of 6 24/06/2014 13:05
No matter what other items are checked, to create a MegaMenu, you MUST click/check the CSS CLASSES box.
CLICK “SAVE MENU” and close the Screen Options view.
3. Insert the pages
Next, choose the Pages that will show on your MegaMenu. To do this, scroll to the bottom left of your Menus page and find “Pages”. Click on the
Pages you want to show. **Note - Sometimes only the “Most Recent” pages show. Click “View All” to show all your pages. Here is a
screenshot of the pages we added:
**Note – the pages are in random order. This is how they will show on the Navigation Bar:
We DON’T want our pages in random order, so we will now return to the Menu Page and drag the pages to the order we desire. Remember to click
each drop-down button to change the names of the pages you have chosen (as demonstrated in Section 5 – Menus). Below, we changed several
names:

Now our Navigation Bar looks like this:
4. Create the Megamenu
Now we can begin the MegaMenu. To follow the link to the detailed MegaMenu video created by YIThemes, sign into YIThemes.com, - click on
Home, scroll down to Themes and click on the second item, entitled Bazar Video Tutorials:
When you click Bazar Video Tutorials, you will see the following page. Click Item 1.8, which will take you to the MegaMenu video.
Watch the video as many times as you need in order to understand how to create the MegaMenu.
Now, go back to your “Menus” page and scroll to the “Custom Links” section on the middle left. Change the “URL” to “#”, and change the label
to whatever you want in your menu. In our example, we will change the label to “Shop By”.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/06-megamenu.html
3 of 6 24/06/2014 13:05
Now click “Add to Menu”, and “Shop By” will appear on your menu.
Drag it in the order you want it to appear on your Navigation bar.
Next, click on the drop-down arrow of the “Shop By” icon, and when the screen opens up, find “CSS Class” and type “megamenu”.
Now decide what Categories you want to list under “Shop By.” In our demonstration, we will begin with “Genre” so users can shop for books via Genre.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/06-megamenu.html
4 of 6 24/06/2014 13:05
After clicking “Add to Menu,” the “Genre” Category appears on the menu, and we arrange it under the “Shop By” category:
Now we can add some Sub-Categories under “Genre”. We will add “ER & Pre-K, K-3, MG, YA, Adult.
Now we will add a new Category called “Media” so that users can shop for their books via different media:

Now CLICK SAVE, then navigate to your Home Page. Here is a visual of our new Navigation Bar with all the pages we’ve chosen, and with the
“Shop By” MegaMenu.
You may continue to experiment with your MegaMenu, including adding images to it, and so forth.

Update alert
Update via Filezilla
Update via FTP
Updating Your Theme Files
From time to time, you will see an Admin panel notice alerting you about available updates. In this section, you will learn how to install the updated
files via FTP and via Filezilla.
Update alert
THEME UPDATE ALERT - Whenever we update our theme files, we will send an alert through your WP Admin panel. In this example, you see an
alert for an update to the Bazar Child theme. **Note – there is also a second update alert here, which probably means that one of your
plugins has an update available.
YOU CAN GET TO YOUR UPDATE SCREEN BY CLICKING ON “BAZAR CHILD” OR BY GOING TO YOUR LEFT SIDEBAR AND CLICKING ON
“THEMES.”
On the “Themes” Panel, a yellow bar will say “A new version of the Bazar Child is available for download.”
Read the “Update Download” instructions carefully, then
BACKUP YOUR FILES! This is the safest thing you can do whenever you are updating your files. There are many plugins for backing up your files.
Just go to Wordpress Plugins and experiment with a few. One suggestion is the plugin called XCloner.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/09-updating.html
1 of 5 24/06/2014 13:07
Now go to your Themeforest account and download the updated files to your computer desktop.
Complete all the CHILD THEME steps of this manual to update your child theme.
Update via Filezilla
Updating Via Filezilla - Now you will learn how to update your files using the Filezilla client.
First, BACKUP YOUR FILES! This is always the safest thing to do.
Next, download and install the Filezilla Client - http://filezilla-project.org/
Now OPEN FILEZILLA to see this window:
Fill in your FTP Credentials, like in the image shown below:
Now “CLICK QUICKCONNECT” and Filezilla will load your website. Here is how it will look:
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/09-updating.html
2 of 5 24/06/2014 13:07
That's all there is to it!
But wait! Using this updating method will overwrite all your custom code. If you edited some files, your changes will be lost.
If you do not want to lose any changes, do not follow the last step of dropping the entire folder. Just follow the steps below.
The most important thing is to have a list of files with your custom codes.
In our example, we edited functions.php and custom.css adding some code.
To find out which individual theme files were changed with the update, open the theme changelog. You can find this in:
yourthemefolder/Changelog.txt. Every time we create a new update, we will use insert what we changed and which files have been changed
into the yourthemefolder/Changelog.txt file. Check the file list to be sure that your custom files are not changed in this update.
Here is an example of a ChangeLog List:
UPDATED:

core/templates/shortcodes/newsletter_form.php
core/widgets/almost_all_categories.php
core/yit/Cache.php
core/yit/Contact_Form.php
core/yit/CPT_Unlimited.php
As you can see by this list, the files functions.php and custom.css ARE NOT changed.
**Note, the functions.php and custom.css files cannot be uploaded, so you will need to open your FTP client and connect to your website.
Now navigate to wp-content/themes/ and open your theme folder (wp-content/themes/bazar/, in this example).
Select all files and folders, except the 2 with custom codes. Drag them and drop all in the right side panel, like in the screenshot below.
FileZilla will ask if you want to overwrite the files and folders. Say “Yes” and overwrite all files and folders.
**Note - If your custom files are in the UPDATED list, you have to update them manually. You need to re-add your custom code to the
updated file again, and only then will you upload it, overwriting the file online.
Update via FTP
UPDATING YOUR REGULAR THEME FILES VIA FTP – You can also upload the files via FTP. If you need a refresher course on how to get to your
FTP files, please go to Step One, Installing the Bazar Shop Files.

DOUBLE CLICK on the Bazar zip file to find the “Bazar” folder.
DRAG THE BAZAR FOLDER TO YOUR DESKTOP. Then open your FTP files and navigate to the folder you have designated for your Bazar Shop.
Open that folder and find WP-Admin, WP-Content, WP-Includes…
DOUBLE CLICK on Wp-Content…
DRAG YOUR “BAZAR” FOLDER from your desktop to this FTP folder.
**WARNING – Do not drag your Bazar folder inside of any of the folders. IT MUST STAND ALONE!
OF COURSE, SINCE THERE IS ALREADY A BAZAR FOLDER IN YOUR FTP FILES, you will quickly receive an alert asking whether you’re
sure you want to replace it. Click “YES ALL” to replace the files.
Once the folder has finished uploading/replacing, it will momentary look as if you have two Bazar file folders, but don’t worry; this is only
because you haven’t refreshed yet.
There is actually no need to refresh. That will happen automatically, once you close the folder.
Remember to CLOSE YOUR TWO FTP WINDOWS, then navigate back to your “Themes” window on your WP Admin panel. The “Update” alert
should be gone, and you should have the most current files.
And now you’re finished and ready for STEP 10!

Setting up The Newsletter
By now your theme should have the look and feel of the Bazar Shop.
In this section, you will learn how to set up a FREE registration with MailChimp, then design your Newsletter.
REGISTER FOR MAIL CHIMP - First, please realize that although we recommend MailChimp, there are many other services and plugins you can use
for your newsletter. If you prefer to use something else but you’re not sure if it will work with Bazar Shop, feel free to Contact Us to discuss it.
NEXT, go to the MailChimp website - http://mailchimp.com - to register for FREE.
After you register, you will see this screen.
Click the red “Activate Your Account” button and follow the prompts. When you have inserted the proper “captcha” numbers and letters, you will see
this Sign-in form:
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/10-newsletter.html
1 of 5 24/06/2014 13:08
When you sign in, you will be asked to complete some information, like your name, address and url. You can’t move forward until this is completed.
Once completed, you can click “Let’s Go” to be taken to your MailChimp dashboard, like the one shown here. Click the green “Create A List” button.
Name your list, complete all the required information, then click “Save.”
You will now be redirected to a page that says “Your List Was Created”. On the left of this page, find and click the Green Button (underneath the Red
button) that says “Design Signup Forms”. Select the list you just created.
Now you will be taken to a page that looks like this. It will have several fields.
You should remove all fields except the “Email Address” field. To do this, click on a field and it will become highlighted in yellow. You will also see
two buttons at the bottom of the field, one with a + (plus) and another with a – (minus).
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/10-newsletter.html

Click on the minus ( - ) and you will see this confirmation window:
Once you have deleted all other fields except the Email Address field, scroll up to the top right of your page and click “Save & Exit”. You should be
re-directed to the Lists page. Click on the Red “View” button, then click “Stats Overview” in the drop-down.
You will see a navigation menu (in red) on the top right of the page. Click “For Your Website” and then “Signup Form Embed Code” in the
drop-down.
When you are redirected to your new page, look on the left sidebar. You will notice that you can choose from three types of Newsletters: Super Slim,
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/10-newsletter.html
3 of 5 24/06/2014 13:08
Classic and Naked. You can even go “Super Custom.” Since each choice produces a distinct code, you must first decide which type of form you want.
Click your choice, then scroll to the very bottom of the page and you will see a Blue Button that says Create Embed Code. You should copy this
code, then paste it into your site.
Click the code and when it highlights in black, right-click on it, scroll down and click “Copy”. Then paste it into whatever type of word document
(Microsoft or Notepad) that is on your computer desktop.
Find this line of code: form action="http://your-username.us5.list-manage.com/subscribe/post?u=cf970914a3dc00778243ad149&id=236a018dc2"
Copy the value of the attribute action, this: http://your-username.us5.list-manage.com/subscribe/post?u=cf970914a3dc00778243ad149&
id=236a018dc2
Go back to your Wordpress dashboard and navigate to Bazar>Theme Options>General >Newsletter. Paste the code in the very first field, which is
called “Form Action”.

Also type “Email” in the “Email Theme” field. Then click “Save Options”.

Localization (Translation)
In this section, you will learn how to translate your site into your native language. You will also learn how to transform your site into a multi-language
site if you want.
First, this theme is ready for localization via .po/.mo files, and works with the WPML plugin. **Note – The WPML plugin is a premium plugin and IS
NOT INCLUDED in this theme package. If you desire to use the WPML plugin, you must buy and install it yourself.
If you are not familiar with translating Wordpress themes, we highly recommend that you read this article: http://codex.wordpress.org
/Translating_WordPress
WPML Configuration
This is the best configuration to operate wpml plugin:
Now for the steps:
First, check the values of your wp-config file. To do this, go to your theme folder (via Filezilla, Internet Explorer or your provider). Note here that
the wp-config file is highlighted.
1.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/11-localization.html
1 of 4 24/06/2014 13:08
Drag the wp-config file to your desktop, then double-click to open it via Notepad. Here’s how it will look:
Next, find the folder languages of the theme by following this path:
WP-Content>Themes>Bazar>Languages.
2.
Now double-click on Languages, and when the file opens, find the default.po file. Right click on it to copy it.
You won’t be able to paste the copied file in your ftp files, so go to your desktop, right-click and save the file there.
3.
Now rename your copy of default.po. For example, rename your file
fr_FR.po for France,
en_EN.po for English
he_HE.po for hebraic, and so on.
Here’s how the renamed file will look:
4.

Now Download POEdit.
Notice that once you install PoEdit, your renamed file will change:
Now Open your renamed file with the POEdit software and translate it by going to File and clicking on Preferences.
When your new screen opens, click on Editor, then click Automatically generate mo:

Be sure to save your translated file, then upload the new .mo and .po via FTP to your server, in the languages folder.

Installation
Automatic installation is the easiest option as WordPress handles the file transfers itself and you don’t even need to leave your web browser. To do an
automatic install of WooCommerce log in to your WordPress admin panel and go to: Plugins > Add New.
In the search field type “WooCommerce” and click Search Plugins. Once you’ve found the plugin you can view details about it such as the the point
release, rating and description. Most importantly of course, you can install it by simply clicking Install Now. After clicking that link you will be asked if
you’re sure you want to install the plugin. Click “yes” and WordPress will automatically complete the installation.
After you’ve installed and activated the plugin, be sure to select ‘Install WooCommerce Pages‘ to get started.
Settings
Inside this panel you’ll find all the core WooCommerce settings such as catalog settings, pages, payment gateways, shipping methods and tax rates
accessible via the tabs at the top of the screen.
To configure your shop go to WooCommerce > Settings. Then browse through the tabs below to get more information on the WooCommerce Options.
For more details, please follow the official docs
Adding a product
Adding a simple product is a straight forward process and not too dissimilar from authoring a standard WordPress post. In the Products menu click
Add Product; you will be presented with a familiar interface, and should immediately see where to type the product title and full description.
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/12-woocommerce.html

Next is the Product Data tab set. This is where the majority of the product data is input.
SKU – stock keep unit, used to track products. Must be unique, and should be named so it does not clash with post ID’s
Price:
Regular Price – The item’s main price
Sale Price – The item’s sale price
Tax:
Tax Status – The items’ tax status
Tax Class – Which tax class the product belongs to. You can set up tax classes in WooCommerce > Settings > Tax
For more details, please follow the official docs
Product variations
Variable products are a great feature of WooCommerce for offering variations of a product with different prices, stock and more. They can be used for
offering variations of a product e.g. a large t-shirt vs a small t-shirt. Each variation can have different properties and prices.
Set the product type: to add a variable product first selection the type ‘variable’ from the product type dropdown. The interface will change to reflect
your selection.
Define variation attributes: on the attributes tab add some attributes to your product. You can use global attributes or define some custom ones
specific for your product.
Make sure to assign all values of the attribute to the variable product which will become options and check the 'variation' checkbox on each attribute to
tell WooCommerce its for your variations:
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/12-woocommerce.html
2 of 6 24/06/2014 13:09
Add variations: After saving your product you can now begin to add variations, or link all possible variations. To add a variation, click the ‘add
variation’ button. A new blank row will appear ready for you to input the data.
Price fields must be set per product
For more details, please follow the official docs
Adding product galleries
Product galleries simply display all images attached to a product, with the Featured Image being the primary image.
You can create a product gallery using the same method as adding a featured image, rather using the Product Gallery meta box instead.
For more details, please follow the official docs
Image dimension settings
On the catalog tab, WP Dashboard -> WooCommerce -> Settings -> Catalog, of the WooCommerce settings you’ll see three image dimension inputs.
Catalog Images appear on your shop loops. Product categories, up sells / cross sells etc
Single Product Image is the main image on your product details page
Product thumbnails are the gallery thumbnails on your product details page (if you have a gallery)
The images you upload will be resized to match the values your input here accurately as possible. IE if your settings are 100×100 and you upload a
300×600 image it will be resized to 100×200. You can also choose to ‘hard crop’ your images which will force them to be the size specified in these
Bazar Premium WordPress Theme documentation http://yithemes.com/docs/bazar/12-woocommerce.html
3 of 6 24/06/2014 13:09
settings, regardless of the raw image you upload, but will be cropped rather than distorted in scale.
Remember if you change these settings after uploading product imagery you will need to regenerate your thumbnails within WordPress for the
changes to be applied to your current imagery. To do this we recommend using the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin. On the catalog tab, WP Dashboard
-> WooCommerce -> Settings -> Catalog, of the WooCommerce settings you’ll see three image dimension inputs.
YITH WooCommerce Ajax Navigation
To use the YITH WooCommerce Ajax Navigation you need to create an attribute in Products -> Attributes with more Terms.
Create more products with the attributes created before.
After, go to Appearance -> Widgets and insert the widget called YITH WooCommerce Ajax Navigation in a sidebar. You need to insert one widget
for each attributes.
NOTE: the sidebar must be set in a Shop page
Set the widget with:
