Community is at the centre of what we do.Turner Centre is a community owned and operated facility. It is a not-for-profit, charitable enterprise that engages with the wider Far North communities providing a range of affordable and accessible venue options.Many local organisations involved in a wide variety of activities including music, drama, fundraising, youth development, horticulture etc are regular users of the Centre and contribute greatly to the enjoyment and ongoing education of our community. Strategic partnerships with significant community enterprises such as the biennial Kerikeri International Piano Competition, Bay of Islands Arts Festival Trust and Creative Northland are a vital element in our business mix.We also seek ongoing sponsorship partnerships with a local individuals and businesses whose generosity we greatly appreciate and rely on to produce excellence in the performing arts.

The Turner Centre is professionally managed

with support from a team of volunteers.

Everyone at the Centre does all they can to

make sure each event runs smoothly, efficiently

and successfully.

Located on the upper level of the Turner Centre, next door to the auditorium. The area showcases stunning local and international artwork and feature a quality grand piano. Bi-fold doors open out onto a partially covered terrace which extends this space during the summer months.

The Theatre Bar is used alongside each auditorium production providing pre-show and interval beverages. The bar regularly stocks locally produced wines.

The area can accommodate up to 170 people for a standing cocktail-style function and more than 350 if the terrace and upper lobby are used. It is used regularly for a variety of meetings, presentations, auctions, small intimate productions and private functions with bar and catering facilities to suit your requirements.

On the lower level of the Turner Centre complex. The area can cater for up to 230 people in a banquet-style setting or 400 people for lecture-style conferences. The carpeted area is divisible into two equal-sized rooms divided by an acoustic folding door. The rooms can be opened up to the Plaza Theatre for larger events through bi-fold doors along one wall.

A data projector and screen, microphones and wifi can be easily set up for your function. The small commercial finishing kitchen is accessible from both rooms. It has a gas cook top and electric oven and is equipped with glassware and tea and coffee facilities. Catering services can be outsourced to suit your requirements.

Situated on the lower ground floor level, ideal for performances, concerts, dances and shows, dinner theatre, weddings, meetings and exhibitions. A multi-purpose venue that can be used in conjunction with the adjacent Events Centre or as a stand alone venue.

The Plaza is our dedicated community events space and can be used independently from the rest of the building. It has no fixed seating, so the floor area can be used in a configuration to suit. When in theatre style it can seat 400. If combined with the Events Centre rooms, the two areas can accommodate over 900 people.

There is a raised stage with a suite of dressing rooms, storage rooms and kitchen facilities backstage.
