Strategic Direction

Strengthen the cooperation between Fora & TTA Standard Committees

– In 2008, TTA supports 38 Fora in IT area– Among 6,864 TTA standards, Fora contributed 547 standards (8%)

Strengthen the standards in the IT related convergence area

– u-Health : Devices, Information exchange protocols, and Information security

– u-Transportation : Communication for Vehicle-to-Vehicle, Vehicle-to-Infrastructure and In-vehicle

7

Challenges(1)

IPTV Standard– Increase interoperability among several services– Increase interworking between various CAS/DRM– Provide independent POD (Point of Deployment) for IPTV Set-Top

Boxes

IMT-Advanced Standard– Raise the efficiency of radio resources utilization by developing high-

speed air interface protocol using enhanced PHY/MAC and MIMO for 1Gbps at nomadic environment and 100Mbps at mobile environment

– Reduce network cost by simplifying network architecture using Relay Node and eNode B

– Develop 3GPP LTE-advanced and Mobile WiMAX Evolution standards

Page 8: TTA Activity and Future Direction

8

Challenges(2)

RFID/USN Standard

– Develop OID (Object Identifier) standards to identify tags on various RFID codes

– Collect and manage sensor data & networks by standardizing interfaces between heterogeneous senor networks and hosts

• Message format, protocol, senor data type
