TSD Homecoming • September 19, 2009
It seems like the school year just started but here we are celebrating our 2009 Homecoming Weekend. We look forward to a great gathering of alumni, staff, students and friends as we enjoy our treasured friendships both old and new.
Let me extend a big Texas welcome to our friends and worthy opponents from the California School for the Deaf-Fremont. Among the CSD-F Eagle fans are many of our colleagues and friends and we look forward to a great time among friends this weekend.
Friday evening we will host ‘Friday Night Live’ at 7:00 in R.L. Davis Auditorium. Director Don Miller and students welcome you to enjoy this variety show.
Our annual Homecoming Booths will be open on the main mall on Saturday from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Come early---stay late, and bring your money to support campus and community causes and organizations. It’s always a great time!
Saturday morning our TSD Alumni Association will have their general meeting and Hall of Fame breakfast in the Deaf Smith Center from 9:00 am until noon.
At 2:00 pm our Varsity Volleyball Team will compete with Not Your Ordinary School in the Seeger Gym.
Saturday, the pre-game ceremonies begin at 5:00 pm to honor former homecoming queens. Kick-off will be at 5:30 pm. TSD’s Homecoming Court will be introduced and the King and Queen will be crowned during the half-time activities.
Homecoming TSD style is a BIG event and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in planning for our 2009 Homecoming. Hosting an event of this magnitude so early in the school year requires extraordinary team effort and our team is the best!
GO RANGERS!

Chris Hamilton - Athletic Director
On behalf of the Texas School for the Deaf, I welcome you to TSD Homecoming 2009.
I want to thank each of you for being a part of our TSD homecoming. The strength and spirit of our school community is represented in our teachers, staff, students, parents and community members as well as our alumni.
Homecoming is an important and very special event in which we celebrate our past, savor our present and look to the future with hope.
Today we get the opportunity to see our student-athletes utilize their skills on the court and the field and exemplify the leadership and character we expect of all students.
My deepest appreciation goes to the various homecoming committees for their dedication and hard work in planning such a special event. Also, I also would like to thank our volunteers who willingly sacrificed their time and energy to help us with the homecoming logistics.
Join me in extending a warm welcome to the student-athletes from Not Your Ordinary School (volleyball team) and California School for the Deaf, Fremont (football team and cheerleading squad). Let the games begin!
Sincerely yours,
Welcome to all!
