WCCF SERVICES TO BENEFICIARIES

Grant MakingThe Foundation’s grants are designed to help community based organizations (CBO’s) and initiatives achieve their operational objectives. The Grants Allocations Committee and the Foundation’s Board reviews and approves proposals through a competitive grants process.

CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

The Foundation implements a capacity development project that is aimed at giving technical support to grassroots initiatives. Bene�ciaries receives integrated assistance and development support from the Foundation, consisting of the following four components:

- grants (incorporating the notion of matching grants)- formalized (class room based) training and skills development (including post-training implementation assignments)- organization capacity development services, technical assistance and on-site mentoring - monitoring and assessment of impact.

ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (ODP)

The Organizational Development Programme is the �agship community service intervention of the Foundation. It involves dedicated capacity development training, on-site mentoring & coaching support, as well as targeted funding to qualifying organizations. Over the last 5 years the Foundation has awarded grants to the value of just under half a million rand and capacitated 1764 community leaders.

From 2010 - 2015 we have distributed 78 grants to 66 organisations with amounts between R129 - R30 000 with a total value of R446 955.00

Annually, 20 bene�ciaries from the region (four organizations from each of the �ve municipal areas) are selected to form

part of this dedicated intervention.

Non-pro�t governance, youth development, sexual health, computer training, fundraising skills, registration of NPO’s, community mapping, ABCD principles, leadership development, life skills, project management, proposal-writing, mentorship skills, nutrition workshops, �nancial management, integrated development planning, �rst aid, CBO sustainability, cooperative training, legal compliance and managing diversity.

WCCF has facilitated 70 interventions. They directly contribute to enhancing the capacity of the target group to manage their service delivery e�ectively and to sustain the CBO’s by creating access to resources that will fund and sustain their local development initiatives.
