Principal’s

Message

This week is extremely busy which is normal at this

outstanding public school. Tuesday is Presentation

Night and Rural Aid counsellor visit, Year 10 WAP

Orientation Thursday, Whole School Assembly Friday

and K-6 Christmas party.

On Friday last week the school posted vouchers to 18

Trundle Central School families who gain a high

percentage of their income from farming. These

vouchers allow these farming families to spend $2400

dollars each in a number of Trundle businesses. Fifteen

businesses will benefit directly from this round of

support and it brings the total of direct cash injection

into Trundle businesses from money raised by this

school to $108,000. The value of direct goods to our

families would be considerably greater than this

amount. Recently our school also delivered packages to

Tullamore Central School as well.

On Saturday some wonderful people from Old Bar

visited our school to deliver more community support.

These people found out about Trundle through our

extensive media coverage and wanted to donate to our

school community because we have been proactive in

our efforts rather than believing the magic fairy will

deliver support. In short, these great Australians

wanted to help those that are trying to help

themselves.

Last week as well, the school delivered Foosball tables,

Up & Go and Weetbix to our families. Next week we

have a very special guest visiting our school to deliver

even more support to our families.

In some wonderful news Food Bank is sponsoring our

Breakfast Club. Breakfast Club has the function of

making sure that children have a nutritious breakfast

when they miss breakfast in the morning. Also for

those students who leave to get on the bus early it will

help give a little top up before class. A full stomach is

essential for active learning.

On Fakebook recently, the question has been raised, as

to why this generosity has not been shared with St

Patrick’s and the Child Care Centre as well. The

answer to this question is both simple and complex as a

percentage of the support and goodwill has been

shared. Whilst I do not believe I need to justify helping

the school community, I am employed to support,

I feel the office staff and students who have placed

countless hours of unpaid work into this community

support deserve recognition, not questions:

This school wrote over 50 letters to public

schools for assistance to our farming community.

Public schools have organised events to support

students attending public schools. The Catholic

system is extensive and is, should be, or could be

supporting Catholic schools. When people

choose Catholic education, as did my parents,

the Catholic (but publically funded system) is

responsible for support.

This school has taken the considerable risk of

appearing in the local, national and international

media. This has created a focus. Our families are

being supported because we were willing to take

the risk of public exposure and articulate enough

to deliver a narrative.

This school has placed the effort into packaging

and delivering hundreds of packages.

This school is directly responsible for

encouraging Rural Aid and Pambula Rotary Club

to visit this town. These organisations completed

work at all venues in town.

This school has had over 120 people visit this

town in the last 18 months. Every one of these

people have spent money in the town helping to

save our businesses.

This school has placed over $100,000 in the

local community, also helping save local

businesses. These business serve the whole

community.

This school has encouraged local and federal

members to visit and remember that Trundle is

part of their electorate.

The above are a few reasons why the school and

especially the people who are proactive do not deserve

to be negatively questioned, I believe. I have a question

as well. What have other people done to encourage

support to their school communities? Maybe the

question is not why has it not been shared but what

have these organisations done to get their share?

Happiest man in Trundle

Sun Safe Policy This term is a No Hat No Play term. Students MUST wear a wide brimmed hat. This means that if

they do not have a hat, they cannot participate in

any outdoor activities including lunch time play. We

keep a small selection of spare hats for those

students who accidently forget their hats. These

hats

are washed regularly but are not to be used every

day by the same students. We will endeavour to

call parents to let them know their child has

forgotten their hat so that it can be found. Please

make sure you put your child’s name inside their

hat.

Secondary

Due to the smoke we will be limiting our students’

time outside. This means that the students will not

be allowed to play strenuous games outside during

recess and lunchtime. Also during PE the lessons

will not be outdoors. The Library will be open at

recess as well as lunch if the students wish to be

indoors.

Tomorrow night is Presentation Night which of

course is a celebration of our students

achievement throughout the year. We will be

having a mufti day tomorrow so that all students

can attend tomorrow night in school uniform.

On Wednesday our Hospitality

students will be

attending a

practical day at

Peak Hill. On

Thursday our Year 10 students will be participating

in the Western Access Program Orientation Day

also at Peak Hill. Both of these days are extremely

important for our students. Thanks to Miss

Rowlands for the transportation and supervision

on both these days.

Friday we will be holding our Whole School

Assembly. This is another important celebration of

our students’ effort in 2019. The joy of this

assembly is that the teachers have a lot more

freedom in handing out awards for their students

for a greater variety of reasons.

Next week our classes will run as normal for

students at school Monday and Tuesday.

Wednesday we will have an alternative program

which will incorporate SRC games in the morning

and a reward lunch at the pool at 1:30pm. If your

child has not had their swimming note returned

could you please do so by next Wednesday.

Students without swimming notes will still attend

the Reward Lunch at the pool but will not be

allowed to swim.

Any questions regarding secondary please contact

me at school.

Have a great week

Term 4 Week 9

Trundle Junior Cricket Trundle Juniors continued their good form when

they hosted the Gilgais at Berryman Oval on

Saturday winning the match by 54 runs.

The Gilgais won the toss and sent Trundle into bat, reaching 54 runs for the loss of 1 wicket at

the drinks break. Resuming play it looked like the

juniors could put together a substantial score

however some good bowling restricted the score

to 109 runs at the end of their 30 overs.

With the ball in hand the Trundle side made

steady inroads into the Gilgais batting line-up.

Again some splendid fielding by the home side

including a brilliant caught and bowled by Blair

MacDonald and a magnificent one handed catch by

Jason Gerry in the out-field. This stifled the Gilgais

attack and when danger-man Cameron Stuckey

was runout by Charlie Taunton the fate of the

game was sealed, Gilgais eventually bowled out for

55 runs in the 22nd over.

Runs for Trundle: Paddy Williams 20, Charlie

Taunton 11, Blair MacDonald 8, Sam Charlton 6,

Charlie Anderson 5; Jason Gerry, Reuben Kelly,

Tyrone Kirk, and Jim Ramsey with 3 runs each.

Wickets for Trundle: Charlie Anderson 2; Reuben

Kelly, Charlie Taunton, Blair MacDonald, Sam

Charlton, Jason Gerry and Tyrone Kirk with 1

wicket each.

Catches: Reuben Kelly 2, Paddy Williams 2; Jim

Ramsey, Jason Gerry and Blair MacDonald 1 each.

Fielding Points: Jason Gerry 3, Charlie Taunton 2,

Paddy Williams 1

Karlos Voucher to Butchers Brew: Tyrone Kirk

Game Ball awarded to Reuben Kelly

Next week we host Waratahs at Berryman Oval

for the final match before Christmas. Training 4pm

Thursday.
