TROUBLESHOOTING

Phone is not able to switch on− check output voltage of loaded power adaptor.

− check connection between keyboard PCB and main PCB (cable and connectors).

− measure voltage after fuse FU1 while power adaptor is connected to the phone. The voltage must not be under 11V. Otherwise replace the fuse.

Low volume or no sound from handset− measure resistance of R414 and R413 (value should be 12ohms). If they

have significantly different resistance, replace them by new ones (picture 1).

− measure DC resistance of inductors L26 a L27. The value must not be higher than 1ohm. If they have significantly different resistance, replace them by new ones (picture 1).

LCD does not show any characters (backlight works)− check if the FFC cable from LCD is correctly connected in the LCD

connector K87 on main PCB (picture 2).− connect a new LCD to the connector K87. If it works correctly, replace the

old LCD by the new one.− If the new LCD does work too, re-solder all pads of K87.

R414 and R413

L27 and L26

Incorrect time− download the lates version of JabloSuite from JabloCOM web page

(www.jablocom.com). With help of UpdateTool (part of JabloSuite) download the highest version of SW from web and download it into the phone. If the JabloSuite is not able to detect connected phone or does not find any SW upgrade on the web, download and install the highest version 1.x of the JabloSuite.

Does not read inserted SIM− replace capacitor C283 by capacitor with value 10pF and remove capacitor

C287 (picture 3).− replace SIM holder.

Hook switch does not work correctly− check if the hook microswitch inside the phone is correctly fixed in the

plastic housing.− gently form the metal actuator just according to the picture 4.

Backlight is only flashing during switching on− download the lates version of JabloSuite from JabloCOM web page

(www.jablocom.com). With help of UpdateTool (part of JabloSuite)

download the highest version of SW from web and download it into the phone. If the JabloSuite is not able to detect connected phone or does not find any SW upgrade on the web, download and install the highest version 1.x of the JabloSuite.

Insystem error 1003− delete all recodrs in contact list.− check if the GSM module is sufficiently pluged in the module connector. If

not, do following steps:1) check plastic post under the GSM module. If tip of this post does

not seat in hole in the main board, correct its position:

2) press the GSM module back into the connector on main board. All three bracket feets must be return back into the holes in main board. Then fix the feets to the main board with a glue (recommended glue is Dow Corning Conformal Coating DC1-2577):

− download the lates version of JabloSuite from JabloCOM web page (www.jablocom.com). With help of UpdateTool (part of JabloSuite) download the highest version of SW from web and download it into the phone. If the JabloSuite is not able to detect connected phone or does not

find any SW upgrade on the web, download and install the highest version 1.x of the JabloSuite.

Insystem error 1002− check if the keyboard cable is properly connected to the connector on

main board and to the keyboard PCB (picture 9).− replace keyboard cable – SPG040034.− replace keyboard PCB – SPG040023.− after repair or change cable or keyboard PCB you have to switch

the phone on by the green button. This operation will delete error event from memory!!! Otherwise the error message will be always shown during starting up.

Phone is losing contact with SIM

− if it is possible, check dimensions of the used SIM card. Especially thickness and the cut down corner of the SIM. If the thickness is smaller than is shown on picture 10 or the cut down corner is damaged, the detector of inserted SIM card does not work properly.

− make a short connection between two right pins of SIM holder (picture 11). This will make a bypass of SIM card detector.
