Cost: $99 pp Reservations Open: September 22

It’s 1940 in the northern Indiana town of Hohman. Nine-year-old “Ralphie” Parker wants only one thing for Christmas—an official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot BB rifle with a compass in the stock. Between keeping tabs on his younger brother Randy and having to handle school bully Scut Farkus, Ralphie doesn’t know how he’ll ever survive long enough to get the BB gun on “the big day.” When Ralphie first asks his mother for the BB gun, she exclaims, “No, you’ll shoot your eye out!” When Mrs. Shields, Ralphie’s teacher at Harding Elementary School, assigns the class to write a theme about what they want for Christmas, Ralphie sees a golden opportunity to express his Christmas wish. Unfortunately, he gets a C+ on the theme and Mrs. Shields has written “You’ll shoot your eye out!” at the top of the paper. Ralphie’s next plan is to ask Santa Claus, but how does Santa respond? “You’ll shoot your eye out!” By this time, Ralphie has had enough of that. When Scut Farkus and his sidekick Grover Dill start in on him on his way home from school, Ralphie knocks Scut to the ground and beats his face bloody. With this outburst of anger and frustration, Ralphie thinks he’ll never get the BB gun for Christmas now. But someone has planned a big surprise for the discouraged boy! Day 2 Pigeon Forge – New Year’s Party #1 Sleep in then enjoy breakfast at your leisure. We will starts the day slowly since you had a late show last night, and since you have plans for an even later night this evening. So relax and sleep late. At 11:00 a.m. we will depart for

our visit to The Island. Here you have an afternoon to enjoy lunch, shopping and tour The Island’s attractions such as the giant Skywheel and the adjacent, Alcatraz East. You will be surrounded by more than 400 artifacts directly from the ship and its passengers. You will touch a real iceberg, reach your hands into 28-degree water, and try to stand on the sloping decks as the ship tilts. Upon embarkation each of your guests will receive a Boarding Pass in the name of an actual Titanic passenger. At the end of your tour you will discover his or her fate in the Titanic Memorial Room where all 2,208 names line the wall. You’ll feel their presence, share their fear, and learn of both the luxury and tragedy that is Titanic. At the end of the tour, you are escorted to the Titanic’s Secret Dining Room. Quiet and aloof should be your attitude as you aristocratically stroll the passageway, it’s important to remember that this evening’s dinner is not available to just anyone. It is a special event, in a special room that is hidden high up on the 3rd Deck and it’s available only to you. As you enter the Dining Room, the tables are set with candelabras and fine china, Cast Characters greet, mingle and share their stories. The meal is a formal dinner where the Butler serves hors d’oeurves, a waiter delivers the salad, and you have a choice of delicious entrees. As dessert balances your meal, the clock turns toward midnight in the chilly North Atlantic, in a different Time Zone in the year 1912. There is a Countdown to New Years and a Champagne Toast is prepared, and you join the Cast & Ships passengers in bawdy spirited toast to another year in history. Déjà vu – New Years Again – Party #2 Shortly after the Titanic’s Clock chimes midnight, your group is magically transported to both a different century, and a different time zone This evening you have an opportunity to celebrate New Year’s Eve for a second time. Having left the Titanic at 12:30 a.m. on Jan 1, 1912 you now arrive at Country Tonite at 10:00 p.m. EST on Dec 31, 2016. The clock has turned backward three hours while the calendar has changed by more than a century. (An imagination is a wonderful thing and that’s what makes this evening possible). You will also have traded the Titanic’s orchestra for a live Band at Country Tonite. This evening’s 10:00 p.m. show is a big time production with top country hits, framed by special effects, professional stage lighting and glorious costumes. You’ll have party favors, hats, noise makers and a balloon drop at midnight. All of this followed by your second New Years Eve toast of the day. Day 3 – Travel Home Breakfast and then we our off to face the New Year on our journey homeward.

Riverside Dinner Theatre presents

million dollar quartet Fredericksburg, VA

Cost: $99 pp Reservations Open: November 1

This 2010 Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning musical dramatizes the now-famous 1956 impromptu recording session at Sun Record Studio in Memphis during which early rock and roll stars Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis met and jammed “just for fun.” On December 4, Carl Perkins was scheduled to record some songs with a new performer, Jerry Lee Lewis. Unexpectedly, Elvis Presley happens to stop by the studio along with his girlfriend, a singer named Dyanne. Remarkably, Johnny Cash also stops by to meet with recording impresario Sam Philips. The four musicians soon begin talking and singing together. On the outside chance that something great (and lucrative) might come out of the session, Philips flips the switch on the studio recorder—and the rest is rock and roll history. Hit songs include Blue Suede Shoes, Folsom Prison Blues, Great Balls of Fire, Hound Dog, See You Later Alligator, and many others. We will depart Manassas at 9:30 a.m. and Woodbridge at 10:15 a.m. Return time is approximately 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, March 22 Riverside Dinner Theatre

presents Saturday night fever

the musical Fredericksburg, VA

Cost: $79 pp **PRICE SUBSIDIZED BY BLUEBIRD COMMITTEE

Reservations Open: December 14 Based on the 1977 hit movie that featured and popularized the disco music of the Bee Gees, this stage version focuses on talented, streetwise Tony Manero, a nineteen-year-old Brooklyn youth who attempts to escape the tensions of his seemingly meaningless life through disco dancing. Displaying his dance prowess during a weekend at the local discotheque, he luxuriates in the admiration of the crowd, nurtures a growing relationship with Stephanie, his dance partner, and temporarily forgets the realities of his life: a less-than-engaging day job in a paint store, clashes with his abusive and overbearing parents, racial tensions in the local community, and his gang of macho-but-deadbeat friends. Eventually Tony and Stephanie discover that they both wish to make more of their lives, and they resolve to help each other start afresh. (Many of the film’s darker elements have been eliminated from the stage version’s plot in order to make this a family-friendly show.). We will depart Manassas at 10:30 a.m. and Woodbridge at 11:15 a.m. Return time is approximately 5:30 p.m. Time has been built in for lunch on your own in the quaint Shirlington business center.
