What are Specific Tasks that I need to Do on this project?

Page 5: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

Step 1:Carefully go through the following Documents/ Videos in order to understand the Tasks mentioned henceforth:

◦ Project Workflow & Training Guidelines (PPT) – To Learn the Step-by-Step Execution Method

◦ Stickering Video – To Learn how to Sticker & Take Photos of the same efficiently

◦ POI Mapper Video – To understand how to use the POI Mapper Mobile App to record the Restaurant Details & Update your Photos for Approvals.

Next, The Project Manager will share 2 more things with you:

◦ The Restaurant Allocation List on which you are required to work.

◦ The Login Details for your Personal POI Mapper Account (will be created by the Project Manager)

Page 6: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

Step 2:Conduct a Secondary Research on the list of restaurants provided to you and categorize the Restaurant on the following basis:

◦Open/ Functional restaurants◦ Closed restaurants◦ Restaurants which have changed their names, address or phone numbers

Update all the above mentioned restaurant statuses in the google sheet provided by the Account Manager.

Page 7: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

How to do the Secondary Research?

1. Find out which of the restaurants are closed and which are opened - You can do that by searching through the sites like Zomato, Burp, etc. or by calling them up.

2. If the restaurant is closed, Go to the “Non-Stickered Form” in POI Mapper, Fill in the Restaurant Details & Update the Status as Closed. Do the same on the Google Sheet as well.

Page 8: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

How to do the Secondary Research?Continued…

If the restaurant is Opened, then find out if the restaurant address is the same as given to you:

If the address is substantially different than given i.e., the Complete Area or PIN Code has changed, then put it under “Could not find the location” Status while filling “Non-Stickered Form” in POI Mapper.

But if there is only a slight change in the address e.g. Only the Shop number or Street no. has changed, then go to “Trip Advisor Restaurant Information Form” in POI Mapper & Update the new address in the ‘updated address’ field given in the form. [Also, remember that when you

visit this Restaurant for Stickering, you should get an Address Proof Photo for this restaurant]

Page 9: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

How to do the Secondary Research?Continued…

Next, check if the restaurant name has changed,

If the name has changed then put the new name under "Updated Name".

If a new restaurant has opened in place of the old one then mark the old restaurant as closed and do not cover the new one as it is not the part of your list.

Update all the above mentioned restaurant statuses (Closed/ Address Changed/ Updated Address/ Name Changed/ etc.) in the google sheet provided by the Account Manager.

Page 10: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

How to Approach the Restaurant & Introduce TripAdvisor?Introduce Yourself:

• Hi, I’m from TripAdvisor and I would like to talk to you about a Co-branding Opportunity from TripAdvisor. Do you have 5 minutes to spare?

Introduce TripAdvisor & the Purpose of your Visit:

• TripAdvisor, Inc. is an American travel website company providing reviews of travel-related content. It is headquartered in Needham, Massachusetts and is the largest travel site in the world, with more than 60 million members and over 170 million reviews and opinions of hotels, restaurants, attractions and other travel-related businesses.

• Currently, TripAdvisor operates in 45 countries and have a strong market base for Hotels. Now, it wants to expand its vertical into restaurants as well.

• For this purpose, we are doing a co-branding activity through our marketing interns where they will put a sticker at your door front and click some mandatory pictures and take the necessary details.

Page 13: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

How does the Restaurant benefit from this Co-Branding Activity?TripAdvisor is not charging anything to the restaurants to get onboard on their website unlike many

other online portals.

The online visibility for the restaurant will increase as TripAdvisor is present in 45 countries and is a worldwide known brand.

TripAdvisor being an established brand in the hotel sector has a huge customer base which will easily improve the daily footfalls at their associated Restaurants as well.

TripAdvisor will be a one stop online portal for the customers booking a stay at a certain place as they can book a hotel through TripAdvisor and also look out for the restaurants in that specific area.

Being a part of the TripAdvisor Network through this co-branding activity will also enable you to garner much needed Ratings & Reviews from Customers all over the world.

Page 14: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

How to convince the restaurant to paste the sticker? You may Follow this Sample Spiel:

Hello,  I am a student working on this internship for TripAdvisor.

Sir,  your restaurant is listed on our website and we are verifying the data we have on our website of your restaurant.

Having correct data on our website will only enhance your visibility and business as people from all over India and abroad can see your restaurant online.

All we need to do is put trip advisor sticker on your restaurant which will be a proof that your restaurant has been checked by our team.

This co-branding activity is absolutely free of cost. By pasting this sticker in your restaurant, the customers visiting the restaurants will get to know that this restaurant is already listed on TripAdvisor and they can also give their reviews. The more good reviews your restaurant will get, the higher will be the ratings of your restaurant on TripAdvisor.

Page 15: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

Know the Restaurant Owner’s InterestAfter you are done with the Introduction & Proposal, ask for the permission of the owner to apply the sticker at any one place inside the Restaurant that catches the maximum eyeball. E.g. The Entry gate/ Front Door/ Cash Counter/ Reception Desk.

If Yes, do the Stickering and Record the Details in the “Trip Advisor Restaurant Information Form”

If the owner does not allow for stickering, then politely ask the reason for the same and share the same with your project manager. Also, go the “Non-Stickered Form” on POI Mapper & Update the Restaurant Details with the status – “Not Interested”.

Page 16: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

If the Restaurant Agrees to Paste the Stickers…

Page 17: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

Install the Stickers…Identify Places with High-Visibility in the Restaurant.

Such as the Restaurant's Front Door, Reception Desk, or any other place that gets maximum eyeballs from visitors. There are two Priority locations however:

Front Door/ Entrance Door, or

Cash Counter (If the front glass door is not available)

Page 18: TripAdvisor Restaurant Co-Branding Training Presentation

Install the Stickers (Contd.)Paste the Sticker at Any One of the Identified Places –

If the Front Entrance door is a Transparent Glass door then use the Front Adhesive Sticker,

If there is no glass door, then use the Back Adhesive Sticker for all other locations. Paste it on wooden/ steel or any other hard surface that the Door/ Cash Counter may have.

Please go through the Stickering Video to learn how to do this Correctly.

Note:

You need to paste only 1 sticker in each restaurant, either Front Adhesive or Back Adhesive.

she checks all the concerns raised by the Company, to see if there are any that could be resolved by passing it on to the student.

◦ If yes, the Project Manager will first, Ask you (the student who covered that restaurant originally) to resolve the concerns & provide you instructions on how to do that.

◦ In case, you are unable to continue on the project, the concerns raised on your work will be allocated to a new student as a fresh entry.
