Chr. Lancaster, vicar of Kirkby Malzeard to Dr Hill Master of Trinity College. Letter resigning the vicarage, which has three cures, Masham, Kirkby and Midlesmore; and is more than one man can serve. His father-in-law, an aged minister is dead; and he is likely to succeed him, and is guardian to the children and though that living is only 80l. a year, it is one cure. In case no fellow will take it, he recommends Mr Browne or Mr Procter to succeed him.

29 July 1617 Chief Justice Montagu and Mr Justice Dodderidge to the judges of assize at York. Letter in favour of

Trinity College, Cambridge in regard to a suit for tithes in which a non-suit was entered.

1617 Yates v. Topham. Brief in a case for trial at York assizes concerning tithes of Sixforth Grange in the parish of

Kirkby Malzeard, plaintiff claiming to be exempt as the successor in title of the Cisterican abbey of Fountains. Note of

a non-suit at the last assizes in 1617.

28 April 1676 William Wyvill of Burton Constable esq. v. Trinity College, Cambridge and Roger Beckwith, their

lessee. Bill in Chancery, complaining that defendants will not accept a modus in lieu of tithes as they used to do,

namely 3l. for High Burton and 4l. for Low Burton.
