Structure

ThePyramidOneofthegreateststrengthsoftheTremereclanisitshierarchy.Theclanisexceptionallyorganizedcomparedtomanyothers,andthisorganizationgivesitstrengthintimesoftrouble.TheclanisnominallyledbyTremerehimself,whoistheapexofthePyramid,thoughnonesavetheCouncilorshavecontactwithhim.ThesevenCouncilorsoverseethePontifices,whooverseetheLords,whooverseetheRegents,whooverseetheApprentices.Ideally,eachsuperiorsupervisessevenTremereoflesserrank,butinpracticethesenumbersaremorefluid.InplaceswheretherearemanyTremereaLordmayhavemorethansevenregents,andinmanyplacestheyhaveless.Therearealwaysopenings,androomforadvancementforthoseKindredwiththeambitiontoactandtheskilltoavoidgettingcaught.Withineachranksevencirclesof

mystery,withagreaternumberofcirclesdenotingsuperiority.

LocalPoliticsMostoften,TremereatthelocallevelwillbefamiliarwithaRegentthatoverseestheirlocalChantry.ThatRegentwilloverseeApprenticesofvariouscircles,allofwhomwilllikelybecompetingfortheRegentsfavor(ortheRegentsjob).TremerethatfindthemselvesincitieslackingaRegentormanyothermembersoftheclanmayendupbeingassignedtoreporttoanearbyRegent,buttheclanstrivestoassignlocalRegentswheneveritcan(thebettertomonitorApprentices).InteractionwithLordsandPontificeswillbeararityformostTremere,andthosethathavetheprivilegewillsoondiscoverthathavinganevenmoredangerousandcannysuperiorconstantlywatchingthemisanervewrackingexperiencethatwillneverend.

FactionsClanTremerehasmanyhousesandsocietieswithinit.SomehousesaresimplyahandfuloflikemindedTremerewholiketodiscussphilosophyandThaumaturgytogether.OtherHousesaremorerobustandhaveaspecificfocusordriveinunlife.TheseareafewexamplesoflargeHousesthatalreadyexist,butmanyothersexistinbothcanonandwillevolvethroughplayercollaboration.

AstorsliveadoublelifemostofthetimetheyareindistinguishablefromanyotherTremere.TheyareApprenticesandRegents,theyattendgatheringsandvieforpowerjustlikeanyotherTremere.Theyobeytheirsuperiors,filereportsandengageinThaumaturgicalresearchjustastheyareexpectedto.Onlyonrareoccasionwilltheybecalledtotheirotherduties,rootingoutthecorruption,orhuntingdownaknownRogueTremere.Iftheydotheirjobscorrectly,noonewilleverknowtheyareAstors,exceptthePontifexthatcommandstheAstors.
