The reason as to why we think the maximum proposed duration of the song will be 4 minutes and 30 seconds is because in our music video, we will be creating a story within the song and for that story to be created, we will need to add scenes to kickstart, develop and present the story. Completion Deadline: Our given completion deadline is on Friday 13th of January (2017). Hitchhiker - OMI

Proposed Duration: This music video will be 4 minutes and 30 seconds long (maximum). The song itself is approximately 3 minutes and 26 seconds long. From now up until our due date, we will be planning what we are going to be doing for our music video and will be looking at the editing techniques such as continuity. We will also be planning on the story that we will create for our music video, and will be making sure that the story relates to both our song and our message to the audience. During that time we will be also collecting equipment necessary to use while filming our music video.

Genre: The song that we are using falls under the category/ genre of pop music. Many pop songs have been growing in popularity and have been favoured by a majority of people with songs such as Bruno Mars “24K Magic”. So in no doubt is this song any different? And with the song already having 350,675+ views on YouTube, we also believe that the popularity of this song will also increase (even with the use of our music video).

Target Audience: Our music video is aimed at young adults and teenagers from the ages 15- 24 year olds. This is due to the fact that the audience within that age range will be able to relate to the emotions and the story within the music video and maybe even use this as a guideline for them finding love themselves in their lives. The younger age (14 and below) may not feel the same way as the main character in this video, as they are quite young. From 15 years and older is when people (within our target audience) begin to develop the understanding and importance of love. Although unfortunately there are people within our target audience who do not have the greatest amount of luck when it comes to love and romance, we hope that our music video could reach out to them and show them that they are not alone, and with the message of the song that we are trying to reach out to our target audience, we hope this music video can also encourage people not to give up on love because they never know that it may be around the corner (or even there is someone there looking for them). However, people in the older generation (26 and above) may already have encountered enough experience with love and some may even be in a relationship or married. As much as we are trying to use this music video to reach out to our target audience, we ask if they do not take our message and what they see from this music video and what we do in it too seriously as they may actually take this too seriously and try to go to extreme measures which may have a harmful impact on their lives, and/or other people’s.

Background: We are creating these music videos for multiple reasons. Firstly, we have decided to make the video for educational purposes, as we have been told to do this project. It would also help the school and people who are later on doing this project (as an example). As well as this, we can help portray a meaningful, serious, and helpful storyline to show people our subject of the matter, which would help show our message that “Every journey leads to love”.

Research: We have multiple locations in our music video to show the depth of the message within our music video, such as flashbacks that will take place in different locations, and also transport that will take the main character to different locations. We don’t want to use one location as it could be classed as boring and will not match the storyline. We also want to have a good mise en scène within our video so we can make it looks professional. We have a few props, such as fake blood, spare phones (used for smashing, conversations, and more), and make-up. We don’t need to spend much on props, costumes, and more, as it may take away from the message of our video, but the clothing will be within a specific

selection of colours to provide a deeper meaning (connotation) to what we will want to show. We have also researched the applicable laws that will be taken into consideration. Firstly, we have copyright laws to stick to, such as not using any logos from the original artist, not remaking anyone’s original work and using for your own needs (such as profit) and asking for permission for the use of the song, and the use of the artist's name. Finally, we have to stick to the British Board of Film Classification, which is if our ‘film’ (music video) is too gory, then it has to be a higher rating, whereas if the music video is family friendly, it can be a lower rating. Our rating is in the middle as there are violent scenes and deep meanings behind the music video.

Synopsis: The beginning of the story begins with our two main characters having a massive argument, are two main characters are a couple who have been in a very serious relationship, but the argument begins over a very serious incident, as the girlfriend has found out that the boyfriend is cheating on her. He’s kicked out the house and is in a terrible state. A week passes by and he is distraught with himself, being in a emotional wreck. He decides that he’s going to travel to his girlfriend to sort things out knowing that he would never see her again he realises to himself that he would rather embarrass himself in front of anyone if he didn't tell her he loved her one more time so she knew was sorry , knowing he will lose her forever if he doesn’t. His journey is a long, emotional story, which is all for her. But the sad morale of the story is when he is at his closest he is still so far away, as an incident occurs which stops him from getting to her.

Style: The mood within the video is going to be a sad and serious one but not to depressing due to the lightness of the song, as with above, we have shown what the story is going to be about, and therefore, it’s obvious the story isn’t necessarily a happy one. The atmosphere will be an upbeat yet serious one, as we see within the video that the main character loves the woman so much he is willing to travel anywhere for her, however, it still has a serious message and a sad and emotional atmosphere to it, as the story reveals how powerful the influence of love can be in someone's life, it can lead them any were, down treacherous paths or even to their end. Which is what kind of atmosphere and emotions we would like to portray in our music video to show how bright songs and have powerful meanings.

Approximate budget requirements: The price of our production will be about £17,000. This is because we will paying for things that we need to acquire such as actors, equipment, crew behind the production action, our props included in the video, the scenery in the video and the travel costs to get vehicle hire if necessary, also other things need such as editors and an editing suite for the post production. Then also catering for the whole crew and actors during the production, this budget will cover our whole production and any setbacks that may occur, during the production of our music video.
