These decisions are made by the TPO Board which consists of local elected officials and a representative from public transportation. The TPO Board makes these decisions after considering input from the planners, TPO advisory committees, and the public. The TPO also supports activities such as walking and bicycling that result in the reduction of vehicle trips. Shared rides include carpooling, riding a bus, bicycling and walking. Qualified emergencies include illness or unscheduled overtime. On the Treasure Coast, the program runs 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. Think of it as FREE "commuter insurance." Register at www.1800234ride.com or call 1.800.234.RIDE (7433) for free taxi ride voucher. Martin County Public Transit is a Monday – Friday Service consisting of three fixed routes with pre-determined stops and times. The fixed route fare is $1.50 per boarding. Passengers can purchase a $20 bus pass allowing for twenty boardings on any Martin County Public Transit fixed route vehicle. Transfers to the St. Lucie County Public Transit Service (Community Transit) are provided to passengers at either the Treasure Coast Mall or Wal-Mart in Port St. Lucie bus stop locations upon request and at no cost. GoLine buses operate weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. In addition, Saturday service is offered from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Riders under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult and all passengers must be able to board, disembark and carry their own packages on and off the buses. GoLine buses are free to ride. Instead of a charge to ride the bus, GoLine passengers are encouraged to make a donation to help support the bus system. • All GoLine vehicles are wheelchair accessible. • The GoLine System does not operate on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day. On other holidays, GoLine routes follow the regular schedule. GoLine passengers should arrive at the bus stop approximately 5 minutes before the scheduled pick up time and stand next to the bus stop sign. The driver will only stop at the bus stop sign.
