Hillwood Estate Museum and Gardens, D.C.Thursday, May 31, 2018 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.Marjorie Merriweather Post bought Hillwood in 1955 and soon decided her home would be a museum that would inspire and educate the public. Her northwest Washington, D.C. estate endowed the country with the most comprehensive collection of Russian imperial art outside of Russia, a distinguished 18th-century French decorative art collection, and 25 acres of serene landscaped gardens and natural woodlands for all to enjoy. Opened as a public institution in 1977, today Hillwood’s allure stems from the equally fascinating parts that make up the whole. From the captivating life of Marjorie Post to the exquisitely maintained mansion and gardens, the experience of Hillwood outshines even the Fabergé Eggs. After an orienta-tion film, there will be a guided tour of the house and then you can explore the gardens on your own. Grounds for Sculpture – Hamilton, NJTuesday, June 5, 2018 8 .am. – 6 p.m.Another favorite! In 1984, J. Seward Johnson, sculptor and phi-lanthropist, envisioned a public sculpture garden and museum in Hamilton, NJ. His desire was to make contemporary sculpture accessible and offer people from all backgrounds the opportunity to become comfortable with contemporary art. Grounds for Sculpture was conceived as a place where audiences could experience sculpture in a familiar, accessible and informal setting. At its core are more than 270 sculptures located on this beautifully landscaped parkland; each year, 12 to 20 sculptures are added to the outdoor exhibition. The group will enjoy a guided highlights tour and then have plenty of time to explore and have lunch on your own. Don’t forget the gift shop! Escape to Margaritaville, on Broadway, NYCWednesday, June 27, 2018 7 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.More than a musical. It’s a way of life! Plan your escape to the new musical about the choices we make – and the people we become – once we’ve had a change in latitude. Imagine a place where the sun is hot, the water’s warm, and the drinks are as cold as they are plentiful. Featuring both original songs and your most-loved Jimmy Buffett classics, this new musical is the story of a part-time bartender, part-time singer and full-time charmer named Tully who thinks he’s got life all figured out – until a beautiful career-minded tourist steals his heart and makes him question everything. It doesn’t get much better than this. All you need is a ticket! You’ll have time to shop, have lunch (on your own), and explore before the 2 p.m. matinee at the Marquis Theatre, 210 W 46th St. After the show, there’ll be some free time to grab a bite to eat for the ride home before we depart at 5:45 p.m. Orchestra seats.COST: $237.
