Lighten the load with the powerful and dynamic Transporter 6.1 Range.This range includes the Transporter 6.1 Crew Bus, Transporter 6.1 Panel Van and the Transporter 6.1 Single and Double Cab, designed to move even the heaviest of loads with ease.

Ever since the first Transporter rolled off the production line 70 years ago, it has set the benchmark standard in its class. Now back with new editions, the Transporter 6.1 Range is designed for those who get the job done. With its redesigned front end and interior, total connectivity, and ample space, it is a range for every possible business application.

As you’d expect, the Transporter 6.1 range is also incredibly durable, versatile and built to last, with a highly stable body, quality materials and time-honoured workmanship.

Designed to dominate



Robust, contemporary interior

Also, there’s a fully adjustable steering wheel, driver’s seat with four-way lumbar support, durable and robust new upholstery, newly designed dashboard and excellent all-round visibility – transforming the driving experience.

Lastly, to top off many other new standard features, all vehicles now have a radio system with integrated hands-free Bluetooth, App Connect and USB (type C) interface along with LED interior lighting.

New cockpit: dash panel, door, side and seat trim panels are finished in robust Dark Anthracite that doesn’t show dirt.


These include: Driver Alert, Post-Collision Braking System, Crosswind Assist and Tyre Pressure Monitor. Optionally available is Front and Rear Park Distance Control.

Lastly, a rear-view camera is also available as an option for the first time in conjunction with the rear wing doors.

The model line-ups for the Transporter 6.1 Panel Van include two derivatives available in 81kW and 110kW (DSG) respectively, both in LWB.

The Transporter 6.1 Cab Range features an advanced safety system that brakes automatically after a collision to prevent a second impact. After a short delay, the vehicle begins a phased braking action down to 9.66 km/h, during which time the driver can take over at any point.

Customise your Transporter 6.1

This starts with the choice of two wheelbases and two roof heights.There are then four weight classes with a gross vehicle weight rating from 2.8 ton to 3.2 ton. All of the Transporter 6.1 variants come with impressive interior height in the load compartment – ideal for any type of conversion.

When it comes to conversions, the Transporter 6.1 offers a unique level of adaptability.


The optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive automatically adapts the power transmission to the respective driving situation via an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch on the rear axle. The low system weight provides optimum vehicle handling and increased driving dynamics.

Mechanical differential lock, an optional additional support for the 4MOTION all-wheel drive, is available for the rear axle. This makes it easier to pull away in difficult off-road conditions and makes the Transporter 6.1 one of the most capable all-terrain vehicles in its class. Maximum trailer weight goes up to 2.5 ton in combination with the five and seven-speed gearboxes.

Tow bar preparation is available, or if you require greater flexibility a removable option is also available. Trailer stabilisation automatically intervenes if the trailer starts to swing, applying brakes where necessary to ensure the trailer is stabilised.
