Situated near the nation’s center, MidAmerica createsvital transportation advantages for both park industriesand their customers.

At its mid-continent junction, the park is bounded onthe west by US Highway 69 and on the south by USHighway 412, both divided four-lane highways. USHighway 412 is commonly knownas the “Wal-Mart Expressway”because it leads to the Wal-Martheadquarters located just over 80miles east of MidAmerica. Nearby, inland waterway ports (Tulsa Portof Catoosa, Johnston’s Port 33 andMuskogee) provide low-cost bargeaccess to intercontinental, coastaland foreign ports. And, the TulsaInternational Airport lies just 40miles west to provide commercial, air and overnight freight services.

Both US Highways 69 and 412 connect MidAmericato three of the nation’s primary transportation corridors: Interstate Highways 44, 40 and 35. I-44 islocated just 21 miles north and I-40 just 57 milessouth, both accessed via US Highway 69. I-35 is located 129 miles west via US Highway 412.

Because the park lies within close proximity to thesemajor highways and has over 75 industries, over 70trucking companies serve MidAmerica industries on adaily basis. There are five trucking companies on-siteor nearby. These firms include Hamill Trucking, H&ETransport, Intermodal Cartage, Transwood andRobbins. Major terminal operations are located inTulsa, just 40 miles west.

Plus, with Wal-Mart’s 8 million square feet of warehouse space located just over 80 miles east of

MidAmerica and limited back-haul opportunities fromthat region, MidAmerica industries can benefitthrough lower rates. FedEx and UPS serveMidAmerica on a daily schedule. FedEx and UPSboth have terminalsat the TulsaInternational Airport.According to 2009Transport Topics 100,fourteen of the top100 trucking companyheadquarters are located within 275 miles ofMidAmerica. These include YRC Worldwide, J.B.Hunt, Arkansas Best, Greatwide Logistics Services,Prime, Stevens Transport, USA Truck, Frozen FoodExpress, Dynamex, P.A.M. Transportation Services,Maverick USA, TransAm Trucking, GroendykeTransport and Cooper Active Group.

The Union Pacific railroad, a Class I carrier, servesMidAmerica with lead rails traversing the park. Amainline track also known as the “North AmericanRail Link” and switching yard (Smith Yard) are located adjacent to the park’s western boundary.

Another one of MidAmerica’s appealing on-site transportation features is its Regional BusinessAirport. The facility consists of a 5,000-foot runwaywith a 2,300-foot parallel taxiway that can accommodate most business jets and a 365-acre airpark for aviation related industries. The airport uses a PAPI approach system and has a 24-hour credit card fueling system. Plans for the airport includelengthening the runway to 5,700-feet.
