shrink,cripplingPennsylvaniaseconomy.
Adequateinvestmentin
Pennsylvaniastransportation
networkroads,bridges,transit,
highways,ports,railroadsandairportsiscriticalformoving
goodstomarketandpeopleto
work.Yet,decadesofunderinvestmentandan
outdatedrevenuestructurehaveleftourstatestransportation
systemindirestraits.
Bridgesarefallingintodisrepair.
Roadsandhighwaysarenotbeing
resurfaced.Transitsystemsarebeingsqueezed.Andothermodesof
transportationair,rail,locksand
damsaresufferingfromlackof
strategicinvestment.
Theproblemcannotbeignoredany
longer.TokeepourCommonwealth
competitive,wemustachievea
comprehensiveandsufficient
transportationfundingsolution.
Ourmostcostlyoptionwouldbe
todonothing.Itwillcostusin
repairs,itwillcostusinrebuilding,anditcouldcostusintragedieswe
mighthaveavoided.
