• Our Research Center has been founded by The Government Decree-Law no. 655 on «Organization and Duties of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications» published in the Official Gazette of November 1, 2011.

• Transport, Maritime Affairs And Communications Research Center begun active duty in 2014 with the appointment of the President.

With the academicians who become examinant in United States in the fields related to satellite and space,

- With the academicians who are specialist in the fields of space affairs and satellite in Turkey.

• Workshops were held,

• Opinions of all institutions and organizations relevant to topic were received.

In accordance with the knowledge gained at workshops and meetings;

Law draft on the foundation of Turkey Space Agency was prepared.

Turkey Space Agency is planned to be activated in the year 2016.

Published and went in effect in the Official Gazette of February 27, 2015.By the regulation;

Procedures and principles of assessment, funding, monitoring and accomplishing of projects related to research, development and education activities aiming domestic design and production in the fields of electronic communications, aerospace, maritime, railways and highways are defined. In addition, procedures and principles relevant to the qualifications of professionals who will be assigned in the projects, and the payments that will be made to them are specified.

• No limitation on budget• Only corporations can apply. No personal application.• The corporations must be active at least one year.• Each Corporation can apply only one subject for each sector.

WORKSHOP

In order to specify R&D project subjects for year 2015, a workshop was held in April 4, 2015 in Ankara.

At the workshop in which all of the directors of the Ministry and academicians who are specialist in the fields of the Ministry participated;•Electronic Communications 20•Aerospace Technologies 24•Railways 18•Highways 4 •Maritime 12totally 78 project subjects and contents were specified.

With the scope of these project topics, project proposals were called in June 30, 2015.

After legislation completed;

•First, in 2015 to fund «TURKSAT 6A Domestic Communication Satellite Development and Production» Project has been started.

•Activities carried out in the first six months of the Project were evaluated by the monitoring group of the Ministry, authorities from TURKSAT and TUBITAK. It is found acceptable to enter the second six month phase of the project.

•For the second phase the payment necessary to be paid was paid by the Ministry inside the month of August.
