This little girl is off to school with her backpack on her back. If she could get all of the worlds information into one backpack, by the time she graduates she would need 64 backpacks. The amount of information in the world is doubling every two years!

And in 17 years she will have most likely graduated and be in a career. We dont know what that career will be, because it most likely hasnt been invented, and she will have access to more information than we can image, and operating in cycles of change we most likely couldnt explain. It is clear she will need to know information and have skills, but is it also critical she will need to be a deep lifelong learner, continually refreshing her knowledge and skills. This is the crux of the 21st Century Skills discussion, that I would like to go a little deeper on for you.
