RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)
Many people assume that RCIA is only for people who
have never been Catholic and are looking to “convert.”
The fact is that RCIA is for anyone who is interested in
learning more about their faith and deepening their com-
mitment to the community. If you’ve ever been curious
about the Catholic faith or know someone who is, or if
you are a baptized Catholic and have never received
Eucharist or Confirmation, maybe now is the time to con-
sider learning more. The Sacraments are our way as a
community to experience the love of God. If you have
been wondering, if you have been searching, maybe this is
the year to take the next step and join a community of
searchers and wonderers alive in the love of God. If you
are interested in learning more about the RCIA process

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT The parable in today's Gospel may be troubling to us.
At first glance it seems so unfair! We read that the
Master hired men to work in his vineyard. Some he
hired early in the day; others he hired in the middle of
the day and still others he hired at the end of the day.
When it came time for the men to get paid, the Master
paid each of them the same wage--from those who
worked in the hot sun all day to those who only worked
for an hour.
This parable is really not about equal rights for all or
about an honest day's work for an honest day's pay.
This parable is all about the mercy of God. The work-
ers in today's parable were unskilled, minimum wage
workers. If they did not get a job, their families would
not eat. The Master knew this and provided for them,
despite the number hours they worked.
Today's parable reminds us that God's ways are not our
ways. Remember the words from Isaiah in our First
Reading: As high as the heavens are above the earth, so
high are my ways above your ways and my thoughts
above your thoughts.”

Nurses’ Note: Flu Vaccines available this weekend at the Northern Site before
and after Mass. Stop by and get your Flu shot today from a Rite
Aid Pharmacist. Health tips: When it comes to eating before exercise, timing is (almost) eve-rything. You wouldn’t drive your car with an empty gas tank, and you should-n’t exercise without any fuel either. Eating the right foods before and after exercise can make a real difference between feeling energized or lethargic dur-ing and after a workout. What’s the best recipe for a productive workout? About two or three hours before you hit the gym, eat a small meal that in-cludes some nutritious fat (e.g., avocado, olive oil, nuts) and some intact complex carbohydrates. A peanut butter and banana sandwich on whole-grain bread is a great option, as is Greek yogurt (without added sugar) with berries. If you’re on the go, try an apple slathered with almond or peanut butter, or a handful of nuts and dried fruit. Then, after a workout, refill your tank with plenty of water — and, if you exercised for 60 minutes or more, eat a snack that’s a mix of intact complex carbohydrates and protein to help your muscles build and recover. http://www.clevelandclinicwellness.com

such as funerals and weddings. Altar servers can be male
or female and must have celebrated their first Holy Com-
munion. We also encourage adults and young adults to
participate in this ministry. More information will follow
