A NOTE FROM THE PASTOR

I am pleased to share that the Parish of the Transfiguration

has raised $51,875.00 in gifts and pledges toward our 2018

Catholic Appeal goal of $54,157.00. Thank you to all who

have already pledged support. If you have yet to give, we

tholicappeal.org or by completing a pledge form available

in the back of the church.

Fr. Tully and I will be running a 10-day trip to the Holy Land in October 2019. It is over a year away. The cost is $3,699.00 per person. The brochures are available at the front door of the churches. Some people may be wonder-ing about safety. Traveling to the Holy Land is safe. I know many priests who have recently led pilgrimages to the Holy Land without any issues. When I went in 1975, I stayed in the Arab section of Jerusalem. The Arab people were wonderful. I felt very safe. Today travel to the Holy Land is booming. If it was unsafe to go, travel there would not be booming. Once you go, the scriptures will seem so alive because you have seen the sites described or referred

to in the scriptures. Think about it.
