In 2019 the Bavarian tourism industry reported its tenth record year in a row. Clear evidence of this is provided in this brochure. Close to 101 million overnight stays and over 40 million guest arrivals is something we can be truly proud of! The coronavirus pandemic we are experiencing this year is a painful reminder that such fig-ures are by no means a matter of course. It has hit the Bavarian tourism sector with full force. The Bavarian State Government is doing everything in its power to cushion the impact as much as possible. We nev-ertheless remain confident that Bavarian tourism will overcome this crisis. Tourism in Bavaria is not just set on breaking new records: it brings people together and offers our guests from all over the world a feeling of home, tradition and open-mind-edness.
