Torque Tool Controller System Global 8 / Global 8 Ethernet Integrated Error-Proofing Systems Sturtevant/Richmont‘s Global 8 provides all-in-one control of up to eight different torque tools – series 1100 Exacta 2 digital torque wrenches, series SLTC 2.4 FM clicker wrenches, ported 1 air tools, whether clutch or pulse, through the use of the PST- 1000 pressure sensor/transceiver, or selected battery powered tools* – in any combination! The 1100 Series Exacta 2 FM Digital Torque Wrenches are made specifically to work with S/R brand controllers. With ±1% i.v. accuracy and provision of both variable and attribute data, your most critical joints can now have 100% conformance ana- lysis! Our SLTC-FM wireless preset clicker wrenches provide the eficiency of a click wrench, the versatility of the S/R interchan- geable head system, and the immediate operator feedback to know the tool was used properly. When used with the Global 8, the power of these flexible tools is compounded! The common DC 24V control system used in almost every as- sembly plant is accommodated. The 10 pin I/O port provides the ability to change specification sequencing “on the fly”, and the internal relays update your system as each tool is used. A large and readily-visible display assures the operator is always aware of the status of each tightening, the progress through each batch of fastenings, the correct tool for the currently-active fastener, and other information required to assure the fastening is properly performed. A „Suspend“ function permits calibration or checking of tools without counting cycles towards completion of assemblies. Controls up to eight different torque tools (click wrench, digital wrench, ported air tool) in any combination. Frontpanel programming is extremely easy; Setup of tool and specifications for any joint takes less than 3 minutes. Highly reliable wireless tool communications up to 16 m across any of 12 FM channels in 2,4 GHz band. Large backlit LCD shows: - Name of joint, - Tool type to be used, - Number of fasteners in a batch, - Number of fasteners completed in a batch, - Number of completed batches. Three large LED’s augment the display with notification of completed conforming tightenings, rejected tightenings, and batch completion. Beeper with adjustable volume provides additional operator status notification. Tightening and/or tool use sequencing can be stored on the Global 8, or driven through PLC’s using the DC 24V I/O port, or both. Automatic voltage sensing allows use with AC 100V - 240V power supply. CE approved and RoHS compliant, uses radio frequency comminications approved for most countries. The Global 8 has been designed and manufactured to work anywhere. It meets the requirements for use in virtually every country, and is CE and RoHS-compliant. Wherever your faci- lities are located, whatever product you assemble, whatever common torque tool type you prefer, the Global 8 can help error-proof your torque application. Whether it is assembly, au- diting or repair bay operation, the Global 8 can help reduce torque errors, and the inevitable costs associated with them. Integrated Error-Proofing Systems Sturtevant/Richmont‘s Global 8 provides all-in-one control of up to eight different torque tools – series 1100 Exacta 2 digital torque wrenches, series SLTC 2.4 FM clicker wrenches, ported1 air tools, whether clutch or pulse, through the use of the PST-1000 pressure sensor/transceiver, or selected battery powered tools* – in any combination!

The 1100 Series Exacta 2 FM Digital Torque Wrenches are made specifically to work with S/R brand controllers. With ±1% i.v. accuracy and provision of both variable and attribute data, your most critical joints can now have 100% conformance ana-lysis!

Our SLTC-FM wireless preset clicker wrenches provide the eficiency of a click wrench, the versatility of the S/R interchan-geable head system, and the immediate operator feedback to know the tool was used properly. When used with the Global 8, the power of these flexible tools is compounded!

The common DC 24V control system used in almost every as-sembly plant is accommodated.

Wherever your faci-lities are located, whatever product you assemble, whatever common torque tool type you prefer, the Global 8 can help error-proof your torque application. Whether it is assembly, au-diting or repair bay operation, the Global 8 can help reduce torque errors, and the inevitable costs associated with them.

The Ethernet version of the Global 8 had extended functionali-ties, like VIN allocation by bar code scanners or data export to a printer. The lower display and keypad provide a Human-Machi-ne Interface for programming elements of the communication. An USB connector permits rapid changes of specification by computers. One of the four available communication protocols is pre-installed at the factory. Available protocols include: Atlas Copco Open Protocol, Ethernet IP, PFCS, and ToolsNet. (Other protocols may be made available by special order. Contact us to discuss your needs).

When multiple tools of multiple types, or many tools of the same type must be used at a single cell or station, one of the Global 8-Ethernet family of controllers is likely the optimum controller for that location.

Air Tool Pressure Sensor / Transceiver The innovative PST 1000 monitors your air tool performance, evaluates it against specifications stored on board, and pro-vides immediate feedback to the operator and the Global 8. Your air tools and your hand tools can be integrated without a second controller or additional burden on your control system!

The PST-1000 works with ported1 automatic shutoff pneu-matic tools, including clutch and pulse types.

Works with Global 8 to convert a known “good” tightening into specifications, then compares subsequent tightenings of that joint to the specifications.

LED provides immediate feedback to the operator of the „OK/BAD“ attribute status for each use of the tool.

Provides immediate radio communication of the status and data to the Global 8 for display, tracking and I/O use.

CE and RoHS compliant.

Rechargable 2500 mA Lithium-ion battery for extended periods between chargings.

Battery can be recharged 500+ times.

Data from each tightening can be graphed and displayed on the Global 8.

* Compatible battery tools: Panasonic EYFLA4AR, EYFLA5AR, EYFLA5QR, EYFLA6JR1 With port for the underpressure tube of the PST-1000.
