(Andhra), Talcher Kaniha (Orissa), Talcher thermal(Orisssa), Farakka (West Bengal), Kahalgaon (Bihar), andVindhyachal (Madhya Pradesh).

Gas or liquid fuel based power plants of NTPC are locatedin Kawas (Gujarat), JhanorGandhar (Gujarat), Auraiya

(U.P.), Dadri (U.P.), Faridabad (Haryana), Anta(Rajasthan), Kayakulam (Kerala). These seven liquid/gasbased power stations have a commissioned capacity of3955 MW.

NTPC has additional four power generating stations in

Durgapur, Bhilai, Rourkela and Ratnagiri set up in jointcollaboration.

FINANCIAL STATUS

The provisional financial results declared show the salesturnover at Rs 10,260 crorea 19% increase over theprevious year.

The value of production has also gone up from Rs 8,791crore in 2007-08 to Rs 11,161 crore in 2008-09agrowth of 27%.

The Company has paid the highest-ever interim dividendof Rs 300 crore for the year 2008-09. Despite therecession the world-over, the order book position of theCompany stands at an enviable figure of over Rs 60,000crore.

EXPORTS

Achieved a significant breakthrough in exports by securingan order for supply of seven Advanced Light Helicopters(ALHs) to Ecuador against stiff internationalcompetition. Five helicopters have already been deliveredin March 2009.

The export earnings at Rs 421 crore were the highest-ever,in spite of loss of earnings due to the closure of HALAirport at Bangalore in May 2008.
