In this presentation we will be discussing the things you definitely should do along with the things that you definitely shouldn’t do when designing your exhibition stand. Trust us; we have many years of hard earned experience!
DO KEEP INFORMATION AT EYE LEVEL
Stands should make it easy to absorb information. So don’t waste your time perfecting an excellent thread of catchy words. Keep it short and simple, and don’t hide them behind a counter or design it so it is too high up or too low down to read.
DO HIRE A GRAPHIC DESIGNER THAT KNOWS THEIR STUFF In this case, images speak louder than words. Make sure the graphic
designer has done their research and understands your business inside and out. That is how they will create a great stand that is fit for your company and so visitors instantly understand the service you can offer to them.
DO UNDERSTAND THAT IMAGE QUALITY COUNTS
This is quite the obvious one. You don’t want your company to come across as ‘lazy’, as if you couldn’t be bothered to sort out a decent looking stand. The images should be crystal clear.
DON’T THINK OF YOUR DISPLAY AS A BROCHURE
The main objective of your stand should be to grab people’s attention. They won’t have time to stop and read your wordy stand, so as previously said – keep it short and simple!
DO KEEP IT AS GENERIC AS POSSIBLE
If your display is too loud, people won’t bother stopping to view it because it will just automatically look complicated. Make sure your message is displayed perfectly so it can be easily understood.
DON’T ALLOW ANYTHING TO BE PRINTED WITHOUT A PROOF There would be nothing worse than seeing your completed stand not
looking how you envisioned it to look. You don’t want to be left with a stand that you cannot use. And you will carry the cost if you didn’t bother to check the proof properly and blatantly agreed…sorry not sorry…
DO UNDERSTAND THAT COLOUR IS IMPORTANT
Bright and bold colours will definitely catch people’s attention, so that is one thing. Another thing would to use the colour that is associated with your company (for example, McDonalds is yellow and red).
DO KNOW THAT SCALE IS EVERYTHING
What looks perfect on the computer screen can look cluttered when it is all set-up. So think realistically and make sure you’re happy with how it looks before giving the final nod of approval.
DON’T FONT IT UP
We don’t think we should say this again…just don’t clutter your stand design with words!
DO THINK OF FUTURE USES FOR YOUR STAND
All of our custom build stands are 100% re-usable, making them eco-friendly and cost effective. So don’t forget to think about the future uses of your stand. You could use it in your offices to brighten it up and promote yourselves to any visitors, or of course use it again and again at different events. The possibilities are endless!
