Lock-Joint Calipers with fine-adjustment

These calipers feature a joint that can be quickly and firmly locked by a partial turn of the large knurleddisc. A spring washer under the disc maintains proper tension of the legs when the joint is unlocked.

These calipers are also provided with an adjusting screw to permit fine adjustments for closemeasurements. After the legs have been set to approximate size and the joint locked, the finaladjustment is made by a few turns of the knurled adjusting nut.

The legs are made of a high-grade steel and well shaped. They are ruggedly constructed and nicelyfinished.

Starrett Yankee Calipers and Dividers are made from a high-grade steel and well finished.The legs are made of flat stock and are very durable. The fulcrum stud is hardened and has a smoothbearing

surface. The bow spring, although flexible, is exceedingly strong to assure reliability.

All sizes are available with either spring nut or solid nut. The Starrett quick-adjusting automatic-closingspring nut is designed for making fast, positive adjustments. The threads of the nut firmly engage thescrew at the slightest pressure from the leg. When the pressure is withdrawn, the nut automaticallyreleases itself, sliding freely over the screw. One of the handiest and most versatilecalipers ever made Starrett Lock-JointTransfer Calipers have three key featuresa transfer arm, fine-adjustment screw, andlocking joint.

The transfer arm makes it possible totransfer measurements from the inside of

chambered cavities, over flanges and otherplaces where it is necessary to move thelegs after they have been set to size.Simply lock the joint, loosen the transferarm binding nut and swing the leg out orin to clear the obstruction. Then move itback against the transfer arm stop andthe exact size can then be transferred toa rule or gage.

The adjusting screw permits closeadjustments for fine measurements. After
