Biography
an influential Canadian artist
famous for his art and untimely death
born on August 4 th, 1877 in Claremont, Ont.
6th out of the 10 children born within his family
loved nature and started painting full time during 1913
Mysterious Death•died in 1917 at the age of 39
•disappeared during a canoeing trip
on Canoe Lake in Algonquin Park
•fishing wire wrapped around his leg
17 times and sustained an injury on
his left temple
•accidental death due to drowning
seemed unlikely because he was an
expert canoeist
