Tom Canning OBE Tom has 32 years teaching experience and has been the Headteacher of Tollgate since 2004. Under Tom’s leadership, Tollgate was transformed from Satisfactory to Outstanding and he is a National Leader of Education. Tollgate is a Teaching school and Tom leads a Teaching School Alliance of over 40 schools across 7 London Boroughs. Tom is the Executive Headteacher of the two outstanding schools in the Boleyn Trust. He is also an OFSTED inspector and a School Improvement Advisor for the London Borough of Newham. Tom was awarded the OBE in 2010 for services to local and national education. Tom has a wealth of experience in supporting schools in challenging circumstances and for many years was one of the City Challenge Advisor’s for London.
