TODAY, TOMORROW AND SUNDAY State champions to judge Yard Dog Trials THE Yard Dog Trials are always a pop- ular event at the Cootamundra Show and this year is shaping up no different. Organisers of the Yard Dog Trials at tomorrow’s Coota Show are expecting around 60 dogs, which is on par with last year. There will be the maiden (never won a trial) section and novice (won a maiden) sections first up tomorrow morning. The local and junior titles will take place around lunchtime and in the after- noon will be the opens. One of the organisers Lyn Maurer said owners and their dogs are expected to come from across the district and beyond tomorrow with owners from Orange, Manildra and down near the border already indicating their attendance. Prize money will be determined by the number of entrants on the day according to Lyn. As always Vern Armstrong has donated the sheep to be used in the trials. Judge of the novice and maiden cate- gories will be Owen Rutter who won the 2007 NSW Championships held in Cootamundra. Judging the opens will be Robert Cox, another NSW Champion. Local entries will be accepted on the day with all of the action to begin from 7.30am. Pavilion Judging Tomorrow, Saturday October 19 7am..................Yard Dog Trial Commence 8.30am ......Horse Ring Events Commence 9am............Livestock judging commences – beef cattle, poultry and sheep 10am ................Speed Shear registration. State champions to judge Yard Dog Trials THE Yard Dog Trials are always a pop-
