Transcript of Today, 5:30 pm-7:30 pm! Warrenton United Methodist...
The 2014 Block Party is in the books and it was a huge success! Everything was perfect right down to the weather. Thanks to the Block Party Committee for stepping up and to all who worked so hard to make the event successful. The HOWARD MILLS Disciple Challenge: Howard was a beloved member of the Warrenton United Methodist Church (WUMC). He was a Bible scholar who lived out his love of the Word by his example and by teaching the Bible to so many in our church through the Disciple courses that he taught. Several of his students want to extend a challenge to all WUMC members — especially those who knew and loved Howard or who took one or more of the Disciple Courses. They challenge you to make a generous donation to the WUMC Organ Fund. This would be a fitting way to remember Howard and his many contributions to the life of the church he loved. Call the church office or Jon Holmes (540-349-0756) if you have any questions. All gifts made in response should be notated “Organ Fund, Howard Mills Challenge”. Smiling Singles will have a potluck at the Northern Fauquier Park in Marshall on Saturday, September 27 at 5:00pm. Please RSVP with what dish, side or drink you would like to bring. Contact Daniel Dubinsky at 703-431-2516 or [email protected] MOPS/Momsnext bring your family and join us today at 4:00pm at the Northern Fauquier Park for a relaxing afternoon with friends. Children can run free while you enjoy an adult conversation and our husbands can finally put a face to the names of the ladies you spend Tuesday mornings with. Bring a covered dish. MOPS/Momsnext next meeting will be Tuesday, September 16 at 9:30am in Memorial Hall. We will do a craft and have Moms show and tell. Also this week the event you’ve been waiting for: Moms Night Out! Calling all Singers!
The 14th Anniversary Season of the LIVING CHRISTMAS TREE
is right around the corner!
We need 60 Singers for the Tree!
Thursday night practices start on Sept 11th and run from 7pm to 9pm.
We add Saturday morning practices on Oct 4th which run from 10am to Noon.
Don't be shy! We need new and returning singers to fill the tree! If you can make either Thursday or Saturday practices
(or both…or most…or some…) then come join us! It’s a great joy to bring this show
to our church family and our community!
Mark your calendars with
the six LCT Concert Dates: Thurs & Fri, December 11 & 12 (7:30 pm)
Sat & Sun, December 13 & 14 (4 & 7 pm)
Read the back of the flyer for more info
or call Gina at 540-347-1367, x 129
or email her at [email protected]
All singers will be given a book of music containing the 17 songs, anthems and medleys chosen for this
year’s show by Gina Renfro-Smith, Director of Music
Ministries here at WUMC. She is also preparing voice part rehearsal CD’s with all of the songs to make it
easier to learn. Don’t tell your friends…but the words
are displayed on the back wall to help our memories and keep us all together! (Easy-peasy, right?)
You can ask anyone who’s ever been in the tree and
they’ll tell you that there is a wonderful joy in
singing to those upturned faces come December.
They will also tell you of the ‘close bonds’ you form
with your near neighbors in the tree! It’s work, but it’s fun too! Come join us! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
