The seeded teams and home teams for all divisions are determined by the Commissioner’s Office with input from the Volleyball Pairings Committee. The home school’s gymnasium may be the home site. Starting time for quarterfinal contests shall be 5:00 p.m.

Semifinals - Divisions I and II – Tuesday, May 19, 2015 Home site determination shall be made by the school with the higher seed. The seeded teams and home teams for all divisions are determined by the Commissioner’s Office with input from the Volleyball Pairings Committee. The home school’s gymnasium may be the home site. Starting time for semifinal contests shall be 7:00 p.m.

Semifinals - Divisions Open, III and IV – Wednesday, May 20, 2015 Home site determination shall be made by the school with the higher seed. Championships- Division III and IV-Friday, May 22, 2015 San Diego CIF Championship doubleheaders will be conducted at Canyon Crest Academy. The home team is the higher seed.

DIV IV- 5:00 p.m. DIV III – 7:00 p.m.

Championship Schedule, Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Cathedral Catholic High School

Open- 5:00 p.m. Division I – 3:00 p.m. Division II – 1:00 p.m.

NOTE: AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CIF- SAN DIEGO SECTION THE ABOVE CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE(S) MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANYTIME.

4. AWARDS Team trophies will be awarded to the Championship and runner-up teams in Divisions Open through IV.

Individual CIFSDS patches (20) will be given to members of the divisional championship team, and individual runner up patches (20) will be given to members of the runner-up team in all five divisions. Awards will be presented immediately following the contest.

5. PLAYOFF PARTICIPATION PATCHES

Playoff participation patches can be purchased for $10.00 each. School personnel orders can be placed on the CIFSDSHOME website and accessing the “Additional Forms” link.

6. RUNNER-UP PATCHES

Championship/runner-up patches are special order items. School personnel orders can be placed on the CIFSDSHOME website and accessing the “Additional Forms” link. The cost is $10.00 each. Special order items may take up to (3) three weeks to arrive. Non-school personnel can place an order on: www.cifsds.org, forms, miscellaneous forms, championship/runner-up order form.

7. OFFICIAL CIF-SAN DIEGO SECTION CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS

Official CIF-San Diego Section Championship rings are now available from Jostens. Rings are available for participants, finalists, and champions. For information/orders, contact Mark Fitzner at 858-486- 2020 or via e-mail at [email protected]

8. REGIONAL INFORMATION: A link to the Volleyball Regional State information may be found on the CIFSDS Boys Volleyball homepage or be viewed by clicking on the link below. Forms should be emailed to Stacy Candia at [email protected] by Wednesday, May 20, 2015, noon. State CIF Boys Volleyball Forms The following forms must be filled out: 1. QUALIFYING FOR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA REGIONALS – 2015 San Diego Section teams may qualify to enter the 2015 SoCal Boys’ Volleyball Regional Championship. Please check the CIF state website (www.cifstate.org) for more details. Regionals: First- and second rounds – Home of higher seed – May 26 and 28 Regional Championships: Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Irvine Valley College (More information to follow). 9. PRE-GAME PROTOCOL AND WARM-UP PROCEDURES

The following protocol and warm-up procedures will be conducted, as outline below, at all San Diego CIF Semifinal and Championship matches. It is recommended that each First Round and Quarterfinal home team follow the same procedure: At 15 minutes prior to start of game, the serving team will take the court for six (6) minutes; then at nine (9) minutes prior to start of game, the receiving team will take the court for six (6) minutes. Three (3) minutes prior to start of game will begin introductions and anthem (march-in during championship games).

10. FORMAT

The winner of each match shall be the team that wins the best three out of five games (Rally Scoring) with no cap.

11. SCORER AND TIMER

The home school shall provide the official scorer in each round except the Championships. As permitted by National Federation Volleyball Rules, the visiting team may maintain an assistant scorer who shall be seated on the outside of the official scorer (when provided by the home school) at the officials’ table. The home school shall provide the official timer (time-outs and time between games) for all matches except the Championships. The visiting school may provide an assistant timer who shall be seated at the officials’ table on the outside of the official timer (when provided by the visiting school). NOTE: PLEASE ADD THE POSITION OF TRACKER FOR THE LIBERO. One linesperson from each school is recommended. The names, addresses, and social security numbers for each linesperson must be submitted to the home school to enable them to be paid. The paid linesperson secured from either school cannot be members of the boys’ or girls’ volleyball teams (any level). Officials for the pre-championship rounds of playoffs shall be paid by the home school. Officials for Championship round of playoffs shall be paid by the CIFSDS Office.

12. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PLAYOFF OFFICIALS

13. OFFICIALS

All pre-championship referees, umpires, and linespersons for the 2013 San Diego CIF Boys’ Volleyball Playoffs will be secured by the home school and assigned by Summer Vicknair and Don Biagi (Assignment Secretaries). In the event there are not sufficient numbers of officials to provide linespersons for a contest, the home school must provide linespersons, and one from each school is recommended. The names, addresses, and social security numbers for each linesperson must be submitted to the home school to enable them to be paid. The paid linesperson secured from either school cannot be members of the boys’ or girls’ volleyball teams (any level). Officials for the pre-championship rounds of playoffs shall be paid by the home school and may be accounted for in game expenses. 14. ACCOMMODATIONS FOR OFFICIALS

Coaches and Athletic Directors are asked to continue their efforts to provide professional assistance to officials who work their games. This would include meeting the officials upon arrival and escorting them to their dressing area as well as escorting them off the floor at the contest’s conclusion. School personnel other than the head coach should be designated to stand by with a key to the official’s room, or the officials should be given a key. On-site staff should be aware of and observe the privacy of the officials’ locker room/dressing area. Thank you for your cooperation.

15. TICKETS

Host schools will charge admissions for all rounds. Tickets are to be provided by the host school. Tickets for the finals will be provided by CIFSDS. NOTE: Schools may use a complimentary pass list admission to the first round, quarterfinal, and semifinal games. Each school is allowed ten (10) complimentary admissions. The visiting school will fax a pass list to the home school, no later than noon on game day. CIFSDS is the host of the finals. Ten (10) complimentary tickets will be available to each participating schools and must be picked up at the CIFSDS office.

16. ADMISSION There are (2) playoff ticket ranges: Adult; Defined as anyone over 18 years old and Student/Senior. Student; defined as ages 5 through age 18; Senior; defined as age 60 or over:

17. GAME EXPENSE LIMITS

Allowable playoff expenses for 2014-15 can be found in the Policies and Procedures manual of the CIFSDS Green Book. The Green Book can be accessed under the “Governance” tab at: www.cifsds.org. 18. CLEAN-UP

Each team shall be responsible for the clean-up of its own bench area immediately following the contest. 19. NOISEMAKERS No noisemakers (miniature megaphones, cowbells, air horns, blocks, whistles, cannons, drums, thunder sticks, etc.)

Of any kind will be permitted at the site of any contest. Megaphones shall be used only by uniformed cheerleaders for the purpose of directing or controlling their own rooting sections.

20. CHEERLEADERS

A maximum of 25 uniformed varsity cheerleaders representing each of the two competing schools will be admitted free of charge to all CIFSDS playoff contests.
