Hello from the TNT Ranch!Welcome to our 34th Annual Bull Sale! Life is good here south of Almont. We had a very good year, from a production standpoint. Last years drought reminded us to be much more appreciative. July 2 we did have a tornado come through with hail damage. Thankfully we only lost one building and damage to the equipment that was in it. We thank everyone that helped clean up the huge mess. The building has been replaced and soon all of the equipment will be repaired. It could have been so much worse. We were very fortunate to have good rains through July. We had a very good hay crop and our corn was some of the best we have ever raised. I tried a few soy-beans and I think the hail actually made them yield better. It was hard to believe! Our pastures were excellent with lots of grass.

We are so fortunate to have such good help. Justin and Scott are working here full time and Kendra helps out whenever we need her. Gentry made 60 bales this year, with mom in the buddy seat, to help when needed. She was one proud little girl! The grandkids are all getting to be a lot of help when we need them. Trenton loves to come and run equipment for grandpa whenever he gets a chance. Trenton, Madi

and Kari helped with AI, and Justin’s and Kendra’s girls all love checking or moving cattle. Justin and Scott are excellent at whatever we are doing with the cattle or running equipment, and work extremely well together. We could not get it all done without them and are so thankful. Shanon and Gabe are ranching by Lehr and raise some embryos for us. They have expanded the herd quite a bit. They also have several of their own bulls in the sale. Shanon’s three oldest kids enjoyed their fi rst year of showing cattle at their county fair. We also added two more grandkids to our herd. We fi nally got another bull, Ledger Hoovestol was born in April and then Shanon and Gabe just had their 5th little heifer, Sutton Erbele in December. Shanon is up for the Elite Cow award! That makes 15 grandkids for us now…maybe the Morton County record!

Calving later has been great, until this year. It was a whole lot more work than it should have been. The weather didn’t cooperate and we were short on help, but we only lost a few ears and the calves stayed healthy. We did not creep the calves and we weaned the end of September. However Shanon and Gabe did start their bull calves and our ET calves on creep after they pulled the bulls. They are in separate contemporary groups for weaning. We started the calves on a high fi ber medicated creep feed with free choice hay for a few days. Then the bull calves were moved to the big pens and started on a TMR. Due to last year’s drought we put in a couple hundred acres of Rye. We grazed it last fall and also had a bumper crop of it to silage this spring. It is a lot lower in energy than corn silage, but has excellent protein and the calves consume it well. Our early post weaning gains were a little less than normal until we started to add more energy to the ration. We worked them up to what they are currently receiving. 15# of Rye and Alfalfa Haylage, 3# of DDG, 6# of chopped hay, 13# of high moisture corn, along with mineral and Rumensin. This ration is a little higher in protein. It’s a high roughage ration which insures soundness, longevity and fertility. Disposition has always been important to us, but as we age it seems to be even more important. We have been breeding and culling for temperament for years and we are certainly seeing the benefi ts. The fall weath-er was very good and we were able to let the cows graze until after Christmas.

We have grown our Sim-Angus program on both the sire and dam’s side long enough to get a feel for their value, and truly feel they have been some of the most predictable and consistent genetics we have used. However, I feel there will always be a need for purebreds as well. We continue to test for Johne’s as in the past and we are an Accredited Johne’s Free Herd now. We have never had an animal test positive. Shanon and Gabe’s herd has also been Johne’s Free for 3 years as well.

We started with over 200 bulls, culled them down to 150. We are selling 106 in the sale, with a strong emphasis on fl eshing ability, per-formance and high maternal. Selling less bulls in the sale is much easier for us, and we need an excellent set of spare bulls to help incase anyone has a problem with one they purchased in the sale. Shanon and Gabe also have spare bulls at our ranch and we have alwaysneeded private treaty bulls to sell in the spring. We have Mandan Vet Clinic semen test all of the bulls in early April and start delivery shortly after. This is truly one of the thickest, deepest, set of bulls, with some real outstanding heifer bulls in the offering as well.

The fi rst bull purchased will be full price, the second bull we will deduct 2.5% off that bull, the third bull we will deduct 5% off that bull, the forth bull we will deduct 7.5% off that bull. INSPECTIONWe invite you to come and inspect the cattle at our ranch 6 miles south and 1/4 mile west of Almont anytime.

TRUCKINGIf the purchaser requests at the time of settlement, we will assist in mak-ing delivery. Trucking will be free within a 300 mile radius of Almont, to central locations. Long distance will either get hired and we will pay for half, or we are willing to meet at central locations, if there is a full load going to your area, for free.

CANADIAN SALESWe will cover the health papers, semen test, and Canadian delivery to the North Portal or Dunseith, Port of Entries. We will help you in making ar-rangements to any other Ports of Entry. Border costs are at your expense.

HEALTHAll the bulls were vaccinated with BoviShield Gold 5, One Shot, Ultrabac 7/Somubac, and treated with Clean Up II pour on. Fertility tests and health papers provided by Mandan Veterinary Clinic. We are an Accredit-ed Johne’s Free Herd.

FEEDING ARRANGEMENTSIf purchaser requests, we will feed your bull and have him fertility tested in early April. We would like to have all bulls picked up or delivered no later than May 1. The fee will be $100 per bull. The bull’s ration will be the same or very similar to what they are receiving now. We are not responsible for accidents of cattle kept at the ranch. We strongly encourage insurance.

TERMS & CONDITIONSThey will be the same as those recommended by the National Associa-tions. If you have any questions, please contact us. In no instance shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price of the bull. The bulls are 100% guaranteed. We guarantee to provide you with a sound breeding bull, capable of passing a semen test within 14 months of age. Should any bull fail, we will refund your money, or we will supply you with a bull for the upcoming breeding season, plus you will receive full credit at the next year’s sale. We have always prided ourselves with satis-fi ed customers.

REGISTRATION PAPERS & INSURANCERegistration papers will be transferred on all animals. Please leave all in-formation, plus your ASA or RA number in the offi ce. Let us know within one week if you have a name preference for your bull. An Insurance sales-person will also be available at the sale.

SEMEN RIGHTS We are selling full possession, full salvage, plus 2/3 semen revenue. This means any semen sold on any of the bulls, TNT Simmentals will receive 1/3 the selling price per unit. We also reserve the right to collect up to 100 units of semen on any of the bulls, for our own use. This semen will be collected at our expense and the buyer’s convenience. SCROTAL CIRCUMFERENCEEach bull was measured to the nearest .5 centimeter and adjusted to 365 days using a daily adjustment of .033 centimeters. Only bulls with a min-imum of 30cm were selected. The ratings for 12 14 month bulls are 30cm and less = poor; 30 35cm = good; and 35cm and over = very good.

HOMOZYGOUS BLACKWill only sire black calves when used on black or nondiluter red cows. You will get mostly gray calves when used on yellow cows or red cows that have the dilution gene.

HETEROZYGOUS BLACKWill sire both black and red calves when used on nondiluter red cows. When used on yellow or red cows that have the dilution gene you will get roughly half red and the rest will be gray, with some blacks.

HOMOZYGOUS POLLEDAll calves will be polled and requires both parents to be polled and both to pass on the polled gene to their offspring. The majority of our bulls are polled for several generations. Every bull in the sale is sired by a Homo-zygous Polled bull and a polled cow.

HETEROZYGOUS POLLEDApproximately half the calves will be polled out of horned cows. All single polled animals will be heterozygous.

She has a WW ratio of 106 on her first 3 calves, and a full brother sold to Ryan Klotzbach and they love his calves.


Comment: A moderate, deep bodied bull, with an A+ disposition. His sire is a WW, YW, and ADG trait leader with docility in the top 2%. His dam is an easy keeper with a WW ratio of 103 on her first two calves. Her dam has been exceptional; a TNT Tanker daughter out of our R77 donor, with a WW ratio of 106 on her calves. Comment: A dark red, extra long bodied bull. His sire has worked excellent for us on heifers and still ranks in the top 15% for WW, YW, and ADG with top 1% docility. His dam is an ET daughter of the great TNT Bootlegger and our S17 donor, the dam that goes back to proven growth and maternal leaders. She ranks in the top 3% for milk and MWW. We have 3 full sisters in production; all are excellent, heavy milkers. This is a very nice, well rounded mating.

Comment: A broad-backed, deep bodied, super strided bull with the phenotype to match that has been one of our favorites since birth. His sire worked well for us on heifers and still a very positive growth sire with top 1% docility. His dam has a 108 WW ratio, and she ranks in the top 5% for WW, YW, ADG, and MWW. Her very productive dam was our 6th high WW and 4th high YW heifer; she has a WW ratio of 106 on her calves. Comment: This is one of Gabe and Shanon’s bulls that is deep, thick, and heavy muscled that was one or our top for ADG and WDA, sired by their herd sire that continues to throw calves that perform exceptional for them, and and he was our #3 WW and #7 YW bull in 2014. This bulls dam, C435 is a beautiful, perfect uddered daughter of Moonshine with a 104 WW and 112 YW ratio and her heifer last year was their 2nd high WW and #1 YW heifer, back to a cow that looks great at 14 years old. This is a power, maternally packed mating.

Comment: A very attractive made dark red, long bodied bull with a quiet disposition. We are very happy with our Cadillac calves; they came early and really grew. His dam is a very easy keeping, ideally uddered 1st calf heifer out of TNT Whiskey River who ranks in the top 1% for all three growth traits and she is backed by an excellent cow family. His granddam is the dam to Lot 76.

Comment: A light BW, dark red with a smooth calving ease look to him. We bought his sire as a 4yr old, a proven calving ease sire with perfect feet. His dam is a broody made ET daughter of S17 and TNT Bootlegger and is very productive. Here is a bull that ratioed 114 for BW and 108 for WW with very strong maternal backing.

Comment: A very docile, dark red, thick made bull. We purchased his sire as a proven heifer bull who is extremely easy keeping with perfect feet. We purchased his dam in 2006, she was a standout open heifer at Leachmans in Colorado. She is 14yrs old and still very sound with exceptional feet and udder quality. She has maintained a 363 day calving interval and bred for an early calf this spring. This is a very nice all around mating that is sure to add longevity and improve feet structure.
