Miscellaneous: Vehicles with GR GRS GRSO 905 R Gearboxes

Extra oil in gearbox in mining application

Background In heavy mining application with long slopes, Scania recommends to fill the gearbox with extra oil. The reason is to improve the life length of the gears in the gearbox. Note! This will not be made from factory. In case of needed this should be made before delivery to the customer

Service solution Fill the gearbox with specified amount of oil and then add extra 2 litres of oil Note! If it is a new vehicle start at point 4. Always fill the same oil as in the gearbox.

1. Drain the gearbox of old oil, the vehicle should stand in a flat area. Remove the oil plug and the level plug. Wait until no more oil is coming out of the gearbox.

2. Remount the oil plug, exchange the oil filter. 3. Fill the gearbox to the right level. Either by amount or by level. See WSM 00:16-15

Note! With cold oil it could take some time to fill up the range and therefore it is important to wait some time and after fill the gearbox. It is recommended to start the vehicle and let it stand on idling so the oil filter will be filled, after fill the gearbox to the right level.

4. Fill the gearbox with 2 litres of extra oil. It is recommended to extra fill through plug 812374 or sensor 1771230 depending if it is a OPC gearbox or not. See Multi 05-01-0402

In mining application it is recommended to use Scania Transmission Oil STO 1:0, SAE 85W-140 API GL-5. Exchange of oil and filter should be made no later than every 1500 hour

Kami baru saja mendapatkan informasi dari Scania untuk melakukan " Penambahan 2 Liter oli pada Gearbox Type GR/GRS/GRSO 905 " Untuk aplikasi truck Scania dengan Aplikasi Mining seperti mayoritas Truck Scania Di Indonesia. Penambahan bisa dilakukan lewat plug ataupun Speed sensor untuk Gearbox dengan Opticruise :

Akan tetapi perlu diperhatikan hal saat mengganti oli dan menambahkan 2 liter adalah sbb : 1. Setelah oli di drain dan oil filter dipasang kemudain diisi olie sampai level tunggu beberapa saat lamanya sampai oli turun. 2. Sangat direkomendasikan untuk menyalakan engine dan biarkan stationer sehingga filter oil benar-benar terisi. Kemudian pastikan olie sudah sampai level atau volumenya adalah 16.5 Liter untuk Type Gearbox GR/GRS/GRS) 905 dan 16.8 Untuk type GR900 dan GRS920. 3. Tambahkan olie sejumlah 2 liter dari plug ataupun speed sensor.
