Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität, Bonn" p.168 Köppen fertigte ein einziges Ölgemälde, und zwar malte er für seine Freund German Bestelmeyer zur Hochzeit mit Margarete eine Kopie von Tizians ?Himmlischer und irdischer Liebe? ...Vermutlich hat Köppen die Arbeit nicht von dem Original Tizians ..., sondern vor der Kopie Franz von Lenbachs, die im Auftrag des Grafen Adolf Friedrich von Schack (1815-1894) gemalt wurde und in München schon damals in der Schack-Galerie ausgestellt war, kopiert.Abb. 209."
