Durante una piacevole chiacchierata con l'amico ClaudioCardelli, Presidente dell'Associazione Italia-Tibet, sidiscuteva su come trovare un nuovo modo perrafforzare le innumerevoli iniziative dell'associazione epensammo fosse il caso di unire l’arte alla solidarietà.

La causa tibetana, sostenuta dal pregevole impegnodell’associazione, è sempre stata nei miei pensieri el’idea mi convinse a proseguire in quella direzione. Ilgiorno seguente mi imbattei in una banalissima scatoladi cartone tanto familiare a noi occidentali, sulla quale,troneggiava: MADE IN CHINA.

L'idea cadde dal cielo e preso d'impeto realizzai l'operache sono a mostrarvi: una scatola di cartone con scrittoMADE IN CHINA, simbolo della spazzatura con cui ilpotente impero ha invaso il mondo; una giovane donnatibetana senza bocca, simbolo del silenzio nel qualesono costretti tibetani e popolo cinese in pari misura;una sola frase “TIBET IS NOT FREE”, simbolo della crudarealtà in cui il popolo del Dalai Lama vive da sessant'anninel silenzio più buio.

I l quadro è stato immediatamente donatoall'Associazione Italia-Tibet e creata un’asta beneficaaggiudicata al generoso Dott. Luciano Michelozzi diSalice d’Ulzio. L'intero ricavato sosterrà alcune iniziativesanitario-scolastiche in Tibet e Ladak.

Il mio invito è quello di non lasciar cadere la propriaumanità: “ i l mondo è bello, basta volerlo” .

During a pleasant conversation with my friend ClaudioCardelli, the President of Italy-Tibet Association, wediscussed about how to find a new way to reinforcethe many initiatives of the association and we thoughtit was the case to put together art and solidarity.

The Tibetan cause, supported by valuable association’sactivity, has always been in my thoughts and the ideaconvinced me to continue in that direction. The nextday I came across a banal carton so familiar to us inthe west, but on which towered: MADE IN CHINA.

The idea fell from the sky and I carried out on impulsethe work I’m showing you: a carton with the phraseMADE IN CHINA, symbol of the trash with which thepowerful empire has invaded the world; a youngTibetan lady with no mouth, symbol of silence inwhich Tibetans and Chinese people equally are forced;only one sentence "TIBET IS NOT FREE", the symbolof the crude facts where the people of the Dalai Lamais living for sixty years in the deepest silence.

The painting was immediately donated to the Italy-Tibet Association and put up for a charity auctionawarded to the generous Dr. Luciano Michelozzi fromSalice díUlzio. All proceeds will support both healthand educational initiatives in Tibet and Ladakh.

My advise is to not mislay our humanity: "the worldis beautiful, you just need to want it".
