Sadyt

SADYT has commissioned the 210,000 m3/day SWRO desalination plant the summer of 2012 in Murcia, Spain, and will operate the plant for the next 20 years.

The plant, whose product water covers

AGUILAS SWRO Desalination Plant, Spain

The plant, whose product water covers both the irrigation and human consumption demands of the area, includes a submarine intake tower, and a 860 m conveyance pipeline under water.

In order to carry out these works, intense environmental studies were carried out by the consortium .

The client is the Spanish Environment Ministry.

Sadyt

Algerian SWRO Desalination Plants, Algeria

SADYT, part of the GEIDA consortium, was awarded in 2004-2006, twoimportant contracts for Design,Construction and Operation (25 years) ofsea water Desalination Plants in Algeria:

• SKIKDA (100,000 m3/day).• SKIKDA (100,000 m3/day).Started commercial operation onMay 2009• HONAINE (200,000, m3/day).Started commercial operation onJune 2012

Both plants share a common designphilosophy, including submarine intaketowers and two-steps RO process.

Sadyt

Ashdod SWRO Desalination Plant, Israel

In 2009 a SADYT’s lead consortium (66.6%) was awarded the EPC contract for the erection of the 384,000 m3/day Ashdod SWRO desalination plant in Israel, becoming the first human consumption becoming the first human consumption desal project not developed by an israelicompany in the country.

The client is the Israel Water Company, dependant on the Government, Mekorot.

Nevertheless, the project was delayed and did not proceed to construction until 2011.

Among other challenges, one of the main issues was the plant’s design, which was developed following the standard process of developed following the standard process of the multiple plants erected in the country.

Based on its own O&M experiences, Mekorotand SADYT agreed to introduce several process design variations on behalf of a more reliable, economic and secure O&M.

The plant is expected to be online early 2014
