My name is David Maddox.I earned a bachelors degree in

bioinformatics and have spent the last several years developing

medical research software. In these experiences, I was introduced first-hand to

fascinating technology and scientific discoveries.

Through my experiences I have seen that a big reason heath care IT doesn't move forward as fast as other industries, or spends an inordinate amount of money trying to do so, is a lack of understanding between the customer and the implementer of the solution.

Too often solutions are designed almost solely by either a researcher/physician or a programmer. Neither one fully understands the other's problems.

I have the background to bridge the gap between

these two groups.

I understand both the health care problem and

the technology's capabilities.

An MBA will help me build a career around bringing the right technology to specific healthcare problems. It will give me the skills and experience necessary to analyze complex business problems. And it will open up opportunities to work with large health care organizations.
