Time 2 Count is a volunteering initiative designed to enhance the numeracy skills of primary school children. It also builds self-confidence and improves social skills.
Who is involved? You and up to four primary school children.
What does it cost? It doesn’t cost you a penny, we just need your time.
Where does it happen? In a primary school close to your home or work.
What does it involve?One hour each week to play fun, maths-based games and activities with the children, helping them with their numeracy skills.
Why get involved? One in six children in Northern Ireland leave primary school with poor numeracy skills. This limits their future potential and has life-long implications.
Evidence shows that this type of intervention works. Personal development and a huge sense of achievement are just two of the personal benefits volunteers experience.
How does it work? We match you with up to four children in a local primary school and make all of the necessary arrangements. The initial commitment is for one academic year, with the option to extend. We provide training and handle the AccessNI clearance process. All you have to do is turn up and enjoy the sessions.
