Dual-vessel activated carbon adsorption systems are ideal for municipal water purification. TIGG offers several systems that contain from 20,000 lbs to 80,000 lbs of activated carbon. By increasing the

amount of carbon online, a system needs less frequent media changeouts.

Varying vessel diameters and heights allow end users to select the system that best fits their available footprint. Interconnecting 12-valve pipe racks allow the dual-vessel systems to run in parallel or lead-lag. Pipe rack systems can include pressure relief valves, pressure gauges to monitor each vessel and sample valves.

TIGG has several standard systems to choose from. Or, an experienced TIGG engineer can work with you to design a custom system that works for you.

CP 10K-8 & 20K-10 Skid Systems

Municipal water purification projects require smart, cost-effective solutions. When you need a GAC adsorption system robust enough to run in parallel at rates from 1,000 gpm to 1,500 gpm, but need to work within a tight

operating budget, costs can quickly build up.

By renting one of TIGG’s water purification skid systems, you can eliminate the capital costs of purchasing the equipment outright. This allows you to install a quality system while paying for it on an operating budget. Plus, if you like how the skid system performs, you can buy it.

TIGG developed its CP 10K-8 and CP 20K-10 Skid Systems to, reduce installation costs, stop vessel sinkage and to allow for easy assembly. Setting up an entire two-vessel system can take just one day, simplifying contractors’ jobs while reducing labor costs.

Ensuring easy pipe rack connectivity, the sturdy carbon steel skids stabilize the vessels on an even plane. Now, you don’t need to pay for a contractor to construct that expensive concrete pad.

35 Years of Success Stories

TIGG built its business on manufacturing steel vessels primarily for liquid and vapor phase applications. With more than 35 years of success stories…here are a few.

Hydropneumatic Surge Protection Tanks:

TIGG manufactures hydropneumatic water tanks for surge protection in sizes ranging up to 20,000 gallons. These equalization tanks protect water treatment systems from a phenomena know as “water hammer” or “hydraulic shock.” TIGG provided a hydropneumatic tank to a water authority as part of a larger water treatment package that included multi-media filters and activated carbon adsorbers.

Iron & Manganese Removal at Louisiana Municipality:

Many small water systems have issues with iron and manganese in groundwater. TIGG custom fabricated a pressure filter/sand filter system for a water authority to remove color and odor from the drinking water they supplied to their customers. This equipment helped reduce consumer complaints and boosted general satisfaction with the water utility.

Custom-Engineered Tri-Compartment Filtration Tank:

The tank, which removes iron from A New Jersey municipality’s drinking water by using sand, anthracite, garnet and gravel as filtration media, is separated into three internal compartments by internal walls. The three compartments allow water flow to continue in two compartments, while the off-stream compartment is backwashing.

Not only does TIGG provide fresh activated carbon, we also offer spent media exchange and disposal services. Experienced TIGG Site Services personnel have perfected a technique for large-vessel

exchanges that utilize a tri-compartment bulk trailer with a blower unit. The crew attaches one hose to the carbon fill line of a liquid-filled vessel and another to the discharge valve. Then, using the blower on the truck, the vessel is pressurized to 15 psi.

Once the discharge valve is popped opened on the pressurized tank, the spent bed slurries out in a single slug into an empty compartment on the bulk trailer. To ensure complete vetting, the TIGG Technique is performed a total of five times. Then, the fresh media is loaded into the clean interior of the header/lateral designed vessel without the fear of rouge traces of

spent carbon to corrupt the bed. The entire process can take as little as four hours to empty and then refresh the media in a dual-vessel 40,000 lb. system.

TIGG AWARDED CONTRACTS FOR TWO N.Y. MUNICIPAL DRINKING WATER PROJECTSTIGG set to build two custom dual-vessel water purification systems

OAKDALE, Pa. ― (February 26, 2014) ― Expanding its client base in the municipal drinking water market, TIGG Corporation recently won two separate competitively-bid contracts on Long Island, N.Y. to provide drinking water purification equipment. The two contracts are worth a combined $500,000.

TIGG will deliver a custom-made, dual-vessel CP 20K-10 activated carbon water purification system to the Roslyn Water District in April. Each of the integrated system’s two 10-foot diameter vessels will be capable of operating at 150 psi and will handle flow rates up to 750 gpm.

The Locust Valley Water District will receive its custom TIGG CP 20K-12 water purification system in April. Each of the two 12-foot-diameter vessels will have a maximum operating pressure of 150 psi and will have be capable of flow rates of 750 gpm. Both the Locust Valley and Roslyn Water district’s systems are capable of holding 40,000 pounds of granular activated carbon.

“Winning these contracts shows that TIGG’s equipment is ideal for the municipal drinking water indus-try,” said Anthony Mazzoni, TIGG vice president. “With six orders in the last several months, TIGG is really becoming a player in the municipal market.”

TIGG Corporation manufactures activated carbon adsorption and filtration units and integrated systems for municipal water treatment, environmental remediation, industrial emission control and other wa-ter and air purification applications. At its state-of-the-art facility in Heber Springs, Ark., TIGG builds multi-media filters, emergency water storage tanks, hydropneumatic tanks, custom-sized air receivers and other steel tanks and pressure vessels. SAN ANTONIO WATER SYSTEM USES TIGG WATER PURIFICATION EQUIPMENTDual-vessel skid systems help minimize formation of disinfection byproducts

SAN ANTONIO, Texas ― Three TIGG Corporation activated carbon dual-vessel skid systems went online in San Antonio, August 14. The systems are capable of purifying more than 5 million gallons of water a day. The integrated units were engineered at TIGG’s Oakdale, Pa. headquarters and built at its Heber Springs, Ark. facility.

The GAC adsorption systems are being used to proactively remove TOCs and THMs from Canyon Lake, a nearby potable surface water supply, to reduce the potential for formation of disinfection by-products (DBP) in the distribution system, and ensure compliance with EPA Stage 2 DBP regulations.

TIGG won the competitively bid contract to rent the units to the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) on July 3. The agreement could be worth up to $2.5 million and includes spent carbon exchange and dispos-al services. TIGG’s CP 20K-10 dual Vessel Skid Systems meet or exceed SAWS specification require-ments for the application. The units are capable of running either in series or parallel. Each system holds 40,000 lbs of granular activated carbon and is capable of purifying water at 1,500 gpm. The contract also included operational training for SAWS employees.

“Although we’ve been manufacturing the dual-vessel CP 20K-10 system for years, this is the first time we’ve supplied a client with the complete system on a skid,” said Anthony Mazzoni, TIGG vice presi-dent. “We specifically engineered each skid to ship on a single flatbed truck. Plus, the skids simplify the setup process and help reduce labor costs.”

TIGG Corporation manufactures activated carbon adsorption and filtration units and integrated systems for municipal water treatment, environmental remediation, industrial emission control and other water and air purification applications. At its state-of-the-art facility in Arkansas, TIGG builds multi-media filters, emergency water storage tanks, hydropneumatic tanks, custom-sized air receivers and other steel tanks and pressure vessels.
