Allan Nye, President Southeastern Chemical Industries & Interstate Chemical Inc.Allan Nye is the President of Southeastern Chemical Industries and Interstate Chemical Inc. Allan was born and raised in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and Graduated from Ohio State University with a B.A. in Business. He moved to Florida in 1978 and began his professional chemical career as a Sales Representative for one of the largest oil and fuel distributors, Fleetwing Oil. He quickly moved up the ranks and became Operations Manager at their Lakeland, FL, facility.

With his extensive chemical sales and management experience, he decided to start his own industrial chemical distribution company, Interstate Chemical Inc. in 1998. He built the company from the ground floor into a successful regional distributor of solvents and other industrial chemicals. In 2005, Allan acquired a second specialty chemical manufacturing company located in Port Orange, FL, named Southeastern Chemical Industries (dba Sechem). Sechem manufactures a full line of lacquer thinners and reducers for the paint and automotive industry.

Allan’s daughter Ashley Nye joined his growing portfolio of companies in 2008, and together they created a third specialty chemical manufacturing company, Ultra-Look Corp., who manufactures CarCandy Automotive Detail Products. Allan and his wife Jan currently live in Lakeland, FL.

Ashley graduated from the University of South Florida in 2008 with a B.A in Mass Communications. Throughout college she worked for Manheim Auto Auctions in Floor Plan Inventory Financing. Shortly after graduating from USF, she joined her father’s chemical distribution company, Interstate Chemical, as an Outside Sales Representative.

After working in the field for a few years selling industrial chemicals, Ashley realized there was an opportunity to expand the family business by developing and manufacturing a line of car care products. Location InformationLakeland, FLLakeland is the westernmost city in Polk County and the principal city of the Lakeland-Winter Haven Metropolital Statistical Area. It is approximately 40 minutes east of Tampa and one hour southwest of Orlando.

Located in the heart of Florida, one of Lakeland's biggest draws is its temperate, subtropical climate. Winters are dry and sunny, with average lows never dipping below 50°F (and the record low is only 20°F). Even in the summer, average highs stay in the low- to mid-90s, with regular afternoon showers to cool things off.

Lakeland's most significant cultural draws are its numerous historic districts. The creatively inclined will enjoy visiting the Polk Museum of Art, the Polk Theatre and the Silver Moon Drive-In.

Public schools in the area are run by the Polk County School District. There are also a variety of charter schools and Christian private schools from which parents can choose. Visitors can also see more than 2,000 other animals at Lowry Park Zoo, about 80 rescued fabulous felines at Big Cat Rescue, and over 20,000 aquatic species at the Florida Aquarium.

Tampa is also a cultural powerhouse. There are a variety of stage and performing arts venues, including the Tampa Theatre, MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre and the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts. Performing arts companies and organizations in Tampa include the Florida Orchestra, Opera Tampa and Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. In addition to a Children's Museum, Tampa is home to the Museum of Science & History, the Tampa Museum of Art, and the Tampa Bay History Center.

A number of annual events draw big crowds to the Tampa Bay area. The Outback Bowl is held each New Year's Day, and the summer months play host to Metrocon, the largest anime convention in the state. The Gasparilla Pirate Festival includes the third largest parade in the United States, as well as a mock pirate invasion and other pirate themed events. Fiesta Day celebrates immigrant heritage while the MacDill Air Fest is one of the largest military air shows in the country. There are also several international film festivals that take place in Tampa, including the Gasparilla International Film Festival and the India International Film Festival.

OrlandoOrlando is best known for its family friendly amusement parks, including Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World Altogether, Orlando attracts upwards of 72 million visitors annually, making it the top destination in the U.S.

Theme parks are just one small piece of what makes Orlando such a popular city. Cultural offerings include the Orlando Ballet, Orlando Shakespeare Theater, and Madame Tussauds. The Orange County Convention Center is the second-largest such complex in the country.

Orlando is home to two professional sports teams, the Magic (NBA) and Orlando City SC (MLS), as well as several minor league and other sports teams. The city is host to the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and a number of golf courses are located throughout the city.

Orlando also offers a number of higher education opportunities. From state colleges and universities like Valencia College and University of Central Florida to prestigious private institutions like Nova Southeastern University and International Academy of Design & Technology - Orlando, there is something for everyone.
