Description of Duties

My role was to be in the main banking hall, directing customers to the correct part in the bank as to what service they required, as an example, if a customer wished to change the address on their current account then I would direct them to the welcome desk. The purpose of this was to ensure the customers experience at the branch was comfortable and satisfying. I was also responsible for meeting the branch’s targets by migrating 50% of the customers to the automated deposit point, with a target of 150 customers using it every day which reportedly I easily broke with an average of 175 customers each day.

Customer Assistant

Description of Duties

My job at Argos was to take orders which came through a ticket machine, find the item listed on the ticket in the back room and then serve the item to the customer. This is process was known as picking. Picking became difficult at busy times of the day as many orders were coming through at once but through efficient team work and the sharing of ideas between the workforce there was never much of an issue. If there were issues with the tickets then we would need to use the stock system to resolve the issue which after some time I became very familiar with. As well as picking, I also did various other jobs around Argos at various times; an example was assisting with a delivery by taking the cages off the trucks and into the back room and also taking empty cages, dismantling them and then putting them back on the trucks. During the end of my contract, I was trained on the returns voice recognition system where I would re-stock items or put damaged items into a cage to be sent back to the warehouse all through voice recognition software at which I was complemented on my efficiency.

Description of Duties

My role at Lloyds Bank as a Customer Assistant is to do very much the same as my work experience; however, I have also been trained to use the counter as cashier and have the ability to use the Welcome Desk to help customers with their enquiries. I have also been trained on how to talk to customers and approach them in the best possible way/manner, using the correct rapport and service to enhance their customer service even further. I am also required to do smaller duties where required such as helping out in the ‘Back Room’ where deposits through the deposit points are counted and put into the accounts of the requesters.

Description of Duties

At Primark, my main role is to operate the till and therefore making and serving the customer my main focus. I am quite regularly assigned the first till, resulting in being the first point of contact for the customers when ready for their purchase. Sometimes I am also assigned a department to look after where I stock the shelves, keep them neat and tidy and essentially keep the area clean and attractive. I am also trained to work at customer services where refunds and exchanges are dealt, the fittings rooms and also using the phone where required.
