Sunday’s Focus:
Stand! How is it possible to
take a stand when you are
tempted, challenged or perse-
cuted? It’s only by the Holy
Spirit that we have the
strength to stand as Jesus fol-
lowers. We see a great example
of this in the lives of Peter and
John, two of the apostles. Do
you need courage? Come on
Sunday to be filled up with the
boldness to stand!

Great Outreach Opportunity
The NBC miniseries “A.D. The Bible
Continues” provides each of us a
great chance to reach others who
do not know Jesus. There are three
expressions of this series: 1) the
episodes that air on WOWT each
Sunday night; 2) our Tuesday
night Bible study; 3) our Sunday
morning teaching series. Pray into
this that many may be drawn to
the cross of Jesus. Then invite oth-
ers.
Sunday, Apr. 26
attendance = 59
Confirmation on Sunday
On Sunday Katie
Gosker, daughter of
Paul and Sharla,
celebrates her Bap-
tism and promises to live for Je-
sus Christ the rest of her life. As
she is confirmed we pray that the
Holy Spirit will give her the
strength of faith to stand for Je-
sus! Confirmation is not a sacra-
ment; it is a celebration of Bap-
tism where a person confesses
the faith of their Baptism and
promises loyalty to Christ.
Why You Should Regularly Attend our
House of Prayer!
Why pray? “If you are strangers to prayer you are strangers to power.” ~ Billy Sunday. The Lord gives us His power when we stand together in corporate prayer. We need to pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to be the church He has called us to be. Come to House of Prayer ~ this Tuesday ~ 6:30 p.m. (before worship) at FCC.
What’s Missional?
A missional church imitates what
God has done in Jesus Christ ~
He sent His Son into the world.
To be missional means to be sent
out; we do not expect people to
come to us. We go to them. Be-
ing missional applies to the
whole life of every believer. We
are all missionaries sent into a
non-Christian culture. Every fol-
lower is to be an agent of God’s
kingdom, and every Jesus fol-
lower is to carry the mission of
God into every arena of life. As
the people of a missionary God,
we need to engage the world the
same way He does - by going out.
Ready, set, go!
Missional Idea Encourage others. Make it a daily
priority to speak words of life into
someone. Build your relationship
with them. Encourage others with a
hand-written note. Share the rea-
son why you wanted to encourage
them ~ because of the hope that is
ours in Jesus Christ.
Giving Away Your
Crosses?
We have done so well with our
cross ministry, giving away al-
most 2,000. An additional 1,000
crosses have been blessed and
are available for you to give to
those that the Lord has ap-
pointed. Grab some at the Christ
Lutheran table. Give away your
crosses and bless others in Jesus’
name. Then, tell us what hap-
pened. What’s your story? Tell it!
Jesus Follower Quotes
“Generally speaking, most Chris-
tians live a life that blends in with
everyone else. Are you a blender?”
“What you KNOW may be helpful,
but what you DO is what matters.
So what do you KNOW that you
are not DOING?”
Prayer Quote
Oh yes, (the prayer meeting) is
the place to meet with the Holy
Spirit, and this is the way to get
His mighty power. If we would
have Him, we must meet in
greater numbers; we must pray
with greater fervency, we must
watch with greater earnestness,
and believe with firmer stead-
fastness. The prayer meeting…is
the appointed place for the re-
ception of power. ~ Charles H.
Spurgeon
“A.D. The Bible Continues”
Episode 5 on Sunday
Be sure to watch (or DVR) Epi-
sode 5 of the dramatic miniser-
ies titled, “A.D. The Bible Contin-
ues,” Sunday, May 3, 8:00 p.m.
on NBC, WOWT, Channel 6. You
can also view it on nbc.com or
youtube.com. This Sunday’s epi-
sode will portray another arrest
of Peter and John; they survive a
second trial thanks to the aged
priest Gamaliel. Stephen be-
comes the first Christian martyr
when he is stoned to death for
his faith in Jesus. This miniser-
ies shows the power of the Holy
Spirit as recorded in the Book of
Acts. Don’t miss it!
Tuesday Bible Study
7:00 p.m.
“A.D. The Bible Continues” is the

day evenings. We meet each

This study of the Book of Acts
will build your knowledge of the
Word and encourage you to live
bold, action-oriented lives like
the first followers of Jesus. Don’t
miss any of this! Lesson 5 is “A
Bigger Picture” Tuesday, 7:00-
8:30 p.m. at FCC.

Adult Information Class

more about Christ Lutheran
Church and the LCMC is invited
to participate in an informational
class, beginning on May 17th,
10:00 a.m., in the church office.
Pastor Mark will be the primary
facilitator with other CLC leaders
assisting. Participation in the
class does not obligate one to
join our church, but may lead to
church membership at Christ.
Who do you know who could be
blessed by this class? Invite your
friends and neighbors.
National Day of Prayer
May 7th
Christ Lutheran will observe the
National Day of Prayer on May 7th,
at our Deerfield property, adjacent
to Little Blossoms. We will be on
the property from 11am-1pm and
4pm-6pm to pray with people. Vol-
unteer your time to help us by con-
tacting Al and Ruth Bilau or Linda
Degner. Be sure to come by and
pray for our country and our
church. The theme for 2015
is Lord, Hear Our Cry, emphasizing
the need for Christians, corpo-
rately and individually, to place
their faith in Almighty God, who is
sovereign over all governments,
authorities, and human beings. At
this crucial time for our nation, we
can do nothing more important
than pray.
Night of Worship and Praise
Plus Ice Cream! ~ May 1st
On May 1st, from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
First Christian and Christ Lu-
theran are hosting a Night of

the Lord. An ice cream social
will follow in the Fellowship
Hall. This is a great opportunity
to invite people from the com-
munity to hear about Jesus
through the gift of song. It’s
also a great way to meet some
of our friends from FCC. Be
there.
Augustana District Convention
Laurids and Judi Pedersen repre-
sented us at convention of the Au-
gustana District of the LCMC. They
will share a report of the conven-

Nepal Earthquake
The earthquake had even greater
impacts than initially known. The
United Nations reports that more
than 3,300 people are dead, more
than 6,800 injured, and 8 million
people are affected by this disas-
ter. One organization you may
choose to support in Nepali relief
efforts is Lutheran World Relief.
You may give online at the follow-
ing site: http://lwr.org/ or send
your donation to Lutheran World
Relief, 700 Light Street, Baltimore,
Maryland 21230. 100% of your gift
will be used to support efforts to
respond to the devastation from
the earthquake.
