Networks:
Perimeter InstitutePI has recently updated its wireless system and it is no longer necessary to have a username or password to log on to the PI wireless network. To connect to the PI network, open your ‘Wireless Networks Available’ window and connect to PI_Public.
University of WaterlooThe campus preferred network is officially Eduroam – if you are from an institution that has Eduroam access, you can connect to the SSID 'Eduroam' and, when prompted, enter your home institution's user ID (+domain) and password, for example, '[email protected]' and 'mypassword', for Waterloo students.
We also can provide uw-secured and uw-unsecured user ID and password pairs, in case you have difficulty connecting to Eduroam. Then, connect to 'uw-unsecured', open your browser, and enter the user ID and password pair.
Some selected restaurants:Lotus Tea House Strict Vegan/Vegetarian 79 Regina St. N.
My-Thai Thai 51 King St. N.
Masala Bay Indian 3 Regina St. N.
Mel's Diner Greasy Spoon 140 University Ave. W.
Kickoff Beer 170 University Ave. W.
Cheeses Murphy Only open Friday and Saturday: midnight to 3.30am
46 King St. W.
Details
Breakfast will be available (for a fee) in the Village 1 residence cafeteria in the morning. Bank machines are accessible in the SLC (Student Life Center) and Davis Center.
The list of restaurants here is very brief, and Waterloo has many places to eat. The Plaza, where Mel's is located, has a large selection of food that is priced inexpensively for students, while Uptown Waterloo along King St. has a high density of bars and clubs as well as more upscale dining options.
