PMS Pod School
Dear Families
I hope that you have had a good week and managed to enjoy some of the sunshine?
From Monday work will be back on the VLE for Y5,7 and 8 and any Y6 students who are not in school. Please be
aware though that many staff will now be in school so may not be able to answer questions quite as promptly as
before. The Help desk will still be available for technical difficulties.
This is a new situation for all of us so I thank you all for your understanding as we get used to another new ‘normal’.
We may tweak arrangements over the first few days if we need to.
Students coming into school (Y6 or Key worker/ Vulnerable):
Students should walk or cycle if they can and if you think it is safe for them to do so. Obviously, if they don’t want to
walk on their own, parents can walk with them but please do not come onto the school site. We unfortunately do
not have enough staff to be out and about in the village and there will not be a crossing person but Mr Meredith will
stand outside the gate, greeting students and helping students to cross safely whilst Mr Grocutt will man the internal
crossing on the school car- park and I will take temperatures with a contactless device.
The grass area opposite the carpark has been split into sections and teachers will be there to great their pod groups
with a sign saying the pod name on them.
Please see further details of timings below:
Can I also take this opportunity to say that it has been a real privilege to be Headteacher of PMS, with such lovely
families, during this strange time and I thank you all for your support and understanding.
Have a great weekend; I will post a short video on Facebook outlining the above on Facebook later.
Love Mrs Frost x

Penkridge Star Cooks Only a few entries this week, but they all still look as delicious as ever. Thank you for continuing to send us your
photos, either via the VLE or Class dojo, it’s great to see what the pupils have been cooking at home. We will be
continuing with Star Cooks next week, but entries received on a Thursday or Friday will go forward to the next week,
to allow staff time to judge the entries and create the L’hebdo article. Please do keep up your cooking skills, they are
very important and you are helping your families as well. Well done to all who have been cooking at home.
Year 5
This week Year 5 have still been the busiest cooks. Lilly-May Crawford-Giles has baked a dairy free flapjack, beautifully
decorated with chocolate and Alfie Haynes has cooked tempting star and heart-shaped shortbread. Poppy Briggs has
kept herself busy with chocolate concrete cake and cheese omelettes for her family.
Year 5 Star Cook
Ben Simpson has cooked his socks off recently with Vanilla and chocolate swirled cupcakes with sweets hidden inside,
a beautifully decorated birthday cake for his Mum, a cheesecake, brownies, granola breakfast, a couscous salad and a
croque monsieur (Year 5’s will remember doing this one in lessons). What an impressive effort to feed his family and
keep up his cooking skills. Well done Ben.
Year 6
Chloe Glover-Smith has made mouth-watering cupcakes decorated with jaffa cakes, how yummy! Noah Ralph has
prepared a cheesey jacket potato and crunch fresh salad for his family this week.
Year 6 Star Cook
Grace Hamplett has tempted us with many delicious dishes in previous weeks such as quesadillas, but this week she
has tried her hand at a chicken and broccoli lasagne. It sounds delicious and very healthy. Well done Grace, we’re
glad you and your family are eating healthily during this time.
Thank you to all our cooks this week, looking forward to seeing more entries from Year 7 and Year 8 as well next week.
