LITURGY OF THE DAY
Another name for this Sunday of Advent is Gaudete or Rejoice Sunday.
This name is taken from the entrance antiphon, which is itself a quote
from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Philippians: “Rejoice in the Lord always.”
Our Advent season of preparation is already halfway over. How have
your preparations gone so far? It is never too late to prepare for the
coming of God in our hearts, so let us pray today for hearts ever more
open to the presence of God.

sencillo y escueto: “No murmuren . .

For his Eagle Scout project, Jarred improved the space around

wonderful Knights of Columbus included lights around the
Blessed Mother statue and around the base of the flagpole so it
is visible and prominent at night. Thanks to all who helped!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

GAUDATE SUNDAY
The rose candle is lit the Third
Sunday of Advent, for this color
anticipates and symbolizes the
Christmas joy announced in the
first word of the Entrance
Antiphon: "Rejoice" (Greek,
Gaudete). For this reason the
Third Sunday is also called
Gaudete Sunday, and rose color vestments are
permitted.

Note From Father Ray
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We have completed our project of updating the kneelers
in the church. From the feedback that I have received, you
the parishioners seem pleased with this very necessary
work. I also want to provide everyone with a summary of
the project.
We began in August, and we just completed the work
this week. Gerry Prestia removed 10 to 15 kneelers at a
time and took them to AW Upholstery in Lexington. They
recovered them with the more heavy duty commercial
grade Duramax Red Clay cloth and used 2 inch thick High
Density foam. The total cost was $7,065.
Thank you all for your patience while we slowly
completed our kneeler project. Now we can all much more
easily pray (which is the main thing we try to do in the
building!!!)
In Christ Our Lord,
Father Ray
