ThinkGeoEnergy was founded by Alexander Richter, founding member of the Geothermal Energy Team of Icelandic Íslands-banki (formerly Glitnir Bank). As part of his role within the team, he has been responsible for all research and communication issues of the team. His work to this day includes representation work, business development and origination, as well as client relationships.

The site was initiated in January 2009 and has provided until today in excess of 1,200 news posts, having gone through a redesign in February 2010. It now provides more functionality and additional community and interactive elements.

ThinkGeoEnergy is a geothermal energy news website created to provide a place to post indus-try news, e.g. deals, project and international development.

With the limited attention that geothermal energy receives in traditional renewable energy publications and media, the site provides a unique platform for industry news and announce-ments. The site focuses on the global geothermal power sector, but also looks into large scale direct use projects and applications. ThinkGeoEnergy also serves as a community network helping to facilitate the exchange of ideas, services and communication between players in the industry globally, and to promote geothermal energy in general.

• Global geothermal energy news • Global readership across all sectors of the industry

• Industry community and other social media elements offered

• Power and large-scale direct use focus

• Industry news, deals, project and international development
